CSF
2nd time he keeps the mighty Yankee lineup to 3 runs or less, and this time gets a win out of it. I don't know if it'll last, but for the time being, glad to have you on this club.
Wise Master Buehrle
I've been impressed with Scotty so far. Keep up Schoe!
greg775
I agree. He looked damn good tonight again. Nice move by KW or whomever said he should be a starter this year. He looks nasty.

He has been this years pleasant surprise so far. i'm not saying he's the next Loaiza but he's certainly holding his own so far this season. Hope he can keep it up. SoxFanForever
Scotty is pitching very well. I am really happy with him. I hope he can keep this up all year. It will really help us to our goal....you know....the "P" word
SoxAce
Give credit to Don Cooper as well. He has really helped him harnish his pitches as well as having other quality ones as well. Keep it up Shoey. Were pulling for ya!!
NUKE_CLEVELAND
What we needed, as was the case last year, was someone we didn't expect to do anything to step up and contribute. Looks to me in this young season that Shoe is the man. He defenitely gets props from me for that.
elrockinMT
Said it before, but it bears repeating. Coming out of ST in Az many of us were wondering just what in the heck the Sox were thinking making Shoe a starter. I thought Wright was going to make it as the 5th starter and now Shoe has three quality starts and Danny Boy has yet to get through 5 innings. I will be watching WGN on Saturday as the Sox host TB and I see Wright is pitching. Well I hope he finally puts it together or I am thinking Cotts or someone else needs to be given the chance. Even if we lose, kick me in the butt for saying that, but I hope we get a quality start if not a win from Danny.

The Bones
I admit that I didn't have any confidence in Scott as a starter coming into this year. He has really impressed me so far and I hope he keeps it up. I just hope when he has his first couple of bad outings this year, which are almost inevitable, people don't start jumping all over him and calling for his head. He's pitched well against the Yankees twice, granted they may not be at their strongest right now. That alone shows me that he has what it takes to get the job done. Going into Yankee Stadium's home opener could have been a disaster, but he kept us in the game and that's all we need him to do as our 4th starter. Gene Honda Civic
We were talking about this at the game after shoe got pulled -- I think he's been pulled in the 7th of each game (from what i remember) -- What exactly is a "quality start" I thought it was 7IP pitched allowing 3 or fewer runs -- My friend said 6IP Just wonderin. NUKE_CLEVELAND
Is Schoe this year's Loaiza? A little early to say something like that but a start like he's had cant hurt.
flippedoutpunk
Scotty 2 Hotty has been a pleasant surprise, hes exceeded all of our expectations thus far, we cant ask for much more then that, cheers Scott.
Gene Honda Civic
Thanks guys -- I'm going to have a new stat then -- Superb Starts Same as quality starts, only you have to pitch 7 innings -- It's important because a quality start + weak bullpen is still likely to equal a loss. While a superb start + average bullpen should equal a win.
YASNY
Scott has been a pleasant surprise this year. Apparently KW and the scouting staff saw something in him that the Angels missed. I hope he can keep it up.
CWSGuy406
I definitely did NOT like Shoe being a starter coming out of ST, but he has impressed the hell out of me. He has a little bit of zip on his pitches, he keeps his pitches down. He gets his breaking ball over for strikes. He's our fourth starter, and I'll take a start like that, six or seven innings with three runs or less, any day of the week. I think an order of crow is on it's way to my house, lol. witesoxfan
And I thought $2 mill was a waste for this guy. D'oh! To those who are wondering if Scho is this year's Loaiza...I'll guess yes...not quite to the tune of 21-9 2.19 in 226 innings...but maybe 15-10 or if we're lucky 18-10 about 4.00 in 200-210 innings. BTW....Jas was right. He said coming out of ST Scho was looking good. Boy was he right. Good catch Jas!
DBAHO
Shoe only had 2 pitches bf this season, he added a cutter and a new changeup to his arsenal. He always had ability, but could neva put it together consistently, he mite hav now.

I know I had a long post in defense of him, just after his last ST appearence-- I was at the game tonight and it appeared that he was throwing the cutter, something I don't think he did in the last one. He was throwing something at about 85-88MPH that seemed to give the hitters problems -- I was in left field so maybe my observation is coming out of just there, left field. I didn't see a change-up, which I know he was working on in ST, that I'm positive of.
