LowerCaseRepublican
if you really feel we are committing genocide why dont you do something about it Like move to France I am doing something about it. I, and MANY others, are exercising our Constitutional rights to petition our government to not wage an illegal war. I've also helped to start a food drive to get food to Voices in the Wilderness (since they make constant efforts to get food to Iraqi families) I can work here to stop US foreign policy which causes mass murder. I can do, and am doing, many things here. Those who work for peace will always trump those who hunger for sovereignty.
baggio202
everyday its looking more and more like the right thing to do is get rid of saddam...rumblings from within iraq say millions of iraqi's are just waiting for us to get rid of saddam...the rest of ther world is coming on board apu...much to the chigrin of you im sure...only NATO countries not on board are germany , france (like anyone cares about france - didnt they lose a war to greenpeace?) and belguim...by the time we go to war we will have a majority, a big majority behind us... and with each passing day your position takes on a more insane look...now we are "commiting genocide of over 1/2 million iraqi chioldren". yeah thats right...the angenda we hear on tv about removing saddam and setting up a democratic government is only a smoke screen..the real agenda by evil satans bush and cheney is to systematically wipe out all the iraqi children...i can see bush and cheney sitting in the whitehouse with their "dr evil " laughs just thinking about all the dead iraqi children... your position is more whacked then bin laden's...i havent even heard him come out with the genocide theory..youre really losing it...it makes me ill to read some of the crap you believe...if you really feel we are committing genocide why dont you do something about it..there is a group of 20 americans traveling through turkey right now..their goal is to cross over into iraq and give themselves up to saddam and ask to be used as human shields against the US...shouldnt you join them to help save the iraqi children??? cwsox..you know your son, as well as all our servicemen are in our prayers...we defianelty are about as far apart on this subject as we can get and probably pissed off at me right now and ready to kick my ass(im sure my message to apu did it for ya .. ) but your son is in all our prayers from all posters on these boards..for what thats worth... I agree that Saddam is evil. However, if he is so incredibly evil, then the UN & NATO can step in for the good of the world community and get rid of his lame ass. However, a unilateral pre-emptive attack by the US breaks international law. We'd break UN resolutions, Nuremburg Tribunal verdicts, and numerous other international laws. Jim Baker has been quoted as saying that this "war is about oil." & Paul Wolfowitz has said that this war is about "re-making states". (Both those men have great influence in the current administration) Who are the United States to choose states that we don't like and go destabilize their countries? (i.e. Chile in 1973 and the tons of others that Congress made the CIA admit to) Do me a favor, Baggio. Read the book "It's a Free Country: Personal Freedom In America After September 11". The book is a conglomoration of articles from conservatives and liberals discussing the rape of our civil liberties and how the Bush administration is s***ting all over us. And the rest of the world coming on board? That's a good one...That's why a majority of countries are asking for the inspections to still work. Simply because they all found out that a bunch of the US/UK dossier that Powell used in his UN speech was PLAGIARIZED FROM A GRAD SCHOOL STUDENT'S WORK IN 1992! It's been covered in CNN, the Guardian, the BBC and numerous other sources. If we are gonna wage urban warfare and risk the lives of tons of people, how about giving us credible info, eh George W Chickenhawk? The UK media is now starting anti-Blair stories because of this plagiarism. They are saying that Bush and Blair are attempting to manipulate the world. And it's difficult to not believe that when they use plagiarized material that is 11 years old. we have 16 of the 19 nato countries on board....as fara s the UN is concerned...we should tell them if they dont support us we will drop out of the UN along with all our money we give to those bastards...our dues are higher than any other country... the UN is serverly screwed up right now..for god sakes libya is chairing the committee on human rights violations and of all countries iraq is chairing the commitee on nuclear disarmorment...lmao...i the UN has so many members with so many different politcal agendas that they are now paralyzed to accomplish anything....no matter what plan any country comes up with for anything there will be enough opposition to stop it... we dont need the UN approval to do anything...as colon powell said today...we dont look to get the UN good housekeepping seal of approval when we decide our foriegn policy... LowerCaseRepublican
NATO is essentially run by the US and UK. They are the only ones who send forces when NATO enforces anything most of the time. If you get a chance, "What's So Great About America?" by Dinesh D'Souza is a very good read. It's a conservative view about....what's great about America. Actually, about the genocide. One could take Madeline Albright to the World Court because when she was asked about the sanctions and the death of Iraqi children because of them....she said "The U.S. government has and will continue to think that they are worth it." If we want to be legalist and technical, the US could be brought up on "intent to commit genocide" charges in the World Court, so I am right in my assertion that it is a genocide. And Baggs, don't you love democracy? This country is great because we can get out and freely disseminate ideas like this. This is how democracy is supposed to work. I just think that I don't need to pledge allegiance to the "never ending war" in order to love my country. I also think that I value the military and troops most because I don't want them to be there so they are safe....especially when our "Thief in Chief" is a goddamn chickenhawk. ::sings:: It's beginning to look a lot like 1984...endless endless war... Now theres a statement I definately agree with. Lets see how good Nato is without the US. I think the one thing this entire situation is teaching many is the fact that Nato is completly worthless. The idea behind Nato is great, but the fact is it is weak.

Steff
ok so i guess no one is worried about canada coming over the border and taking over here huh............. No way. Canada makes waaaaay too much $$ off the US. Their movie industry alone has grown over 250% in the last 4 years. And the restrictions they have that no US citizens can work when a Canadian is avaliable to do the job.. genius! The average yearly wage alone has risen 13% per household over there thanks to us and the jobs we make over there. The only thing they are concerned about is looking for a piece of plastic big enough to separate the borders.
DonkeyKongerko
Seriously, the US-Canadian border is the longest undefended, unfortified border in the world. How can we use our armies to perpetuate world peace while leaving ourselves open to attack. I say a quick strike from Windsor, we give the Quebequois some money and a piece of the action and boom - surrender in 10 days tops.

"insert insult here". I'd go down swinging. That nonesense aside. Maybe CW can verify this but from what I know of military tactics it is generally taught that if for example Russia and China went to war with one another, that on the first day Russia would attack and take a half million prisoners, on the second day the would take a million prisoners, on the third day they would take 2 million prisoners and on the forth day 5 million prisoners, however on the 5th day they surrenedr because they couldn't keep such a pace even if they tried to kill them all. There are many predictions for the fall of the American Empire, though I don't expect it in my lifetime, may I not be mistaken.

LowerCaseRepublican
"Political power comes from the barrel of a gun" seems to be the general concensus here. You know who said that quote about political power from a gun barrel? Mao Tze-tung, the infamous "Communist" leader of China. I don't mean instigation by that comment, I just thought it was a very close allusion to the "bomb them all for our power purposes" mentality that has been so overwhelming on these boards.
