Inquiry into Israel's Use

I've asked before and it wasn't answered, so I will ask again...

What is a 'pali?'  I know you use it to refer to a Palestinian, but is it a common slang term, is it something you came up with, etc.? :huh

I use "pali" to refer to "Palestinian"...I don't know where it came from.

Maybe because it will incite more pointless violence? (Just a guess as I don't know for certain.)

The "palis" have shown taht they don't need a reason to be violent!

4E,

Wow, you are stating that Israel should follow the example of the Palestinians?

Israel and the Palestinians on the same moral and ethical plane. I must say, I never would have thought you would believe that. Apu maybe, but not you.

I must say you are surprising me :notworthy

Are you saying Israel shouldn't have killed Yassin and/or Rantisi?

What I said was, when someone says "you killed Yassin, now we will commit a hundred acts of vengeance" against you, don't believe for a minute that these acts weren't planned BEFORE yassin was killed.

You can't be that naive.

You (4E) pointed out that "The "palis" have shown taht (sic) they don't need a reason to be violent! " to justify Israel using violence. I was surprised that you believe that Israel can use Palestinian standards of behavior. That places both Israel and Palestinians on the same moral plane. I am very surprised by that. I would have expected you to state that Israel is the more moral country, more civilized, and should not stoop to the level of the Palestinians (which I believe). I'm not certain if that means you have devalued, in your system, Israel, or are beginning to place a higher moral value on the Palestinians. Either way I think it is dangerous for Israel to use the Palestinian's behavior as justiification of their tactics.

BTW, in rating an entire population or race of people, are you using the lowest common denominator i.e. Hamas members to represent all Palestinians? Do the US soldiers who humiliated and committed crimes against Iraqi prisoners represent all US soldiers? If not, then why should Hamas represent all Palestinians? After all we all support our Troops, does that make us evil?

Tex..."Violence begats violence"...if (when) "Palestinians" attack Israeli civilians, should Israel be expected to do nothing? To just lay back and take it? That's the same as committing suicide.

This concept of "cycle of violence" is crap. Anyone who thinks that if a "pali" terrorist commits an atrocity against Israel, and Israel doesn't retaliate, that the "palis" wouldn't do it again is very naive or insane or just plain ignorant.

When will Israel's right to defend herself be "justified" in the eyes of the world?
