They'll go on killing each other, we'll go on taking sides and the sun will come up tomorrow. I wish I had you optimism. Israel didn't have weapons of mass destruction 20 years ago. Now with nukes, you never know how far they will go. As 4E has stated on many occasions, what is Israel to do when their kids are being murdered by terrorists? People can only take so much. Watching synagogues and buses get blown up doesn't help a peace process. Either does watching missiles destroy your homes and mosques. If you came home, and there was a homeless guy living in your house, and you told him to leave, and he says he has nowhere to go, his family won't let him live with them, are you now responsible to feed, shelter and care for him? According to most liberals those people who have money and a warm place to sleep are the reason that other people are homeless. The majority of them are alcoholics and drug abusers who should clean up and get a stinking job. People who lay around in an alley drinking cheap booze out of a paper bag all day every day are going to have a hard time arousing any sympathy from me. My family was within days of being homeless back in 1982. My dad was laid off from US Steel in 1981 and there wasn't much in the way of work to be found. My dad did as much side work and odd jobs as he could to keep the family afloat. My grandparents here would never allow us to live on the streets. My grandparents in Ireland offered to pay for plane tickets to Ireland and give my dad the family farm. We were lucky that we had a supportive family on both sides, not all families are. Yeah, some of em shoot up with drugs and others bug me for money while I am walking downtown. I always give a few bucks to street musicians though. BTW Nuke, one of the largest populations of homeless in the late 60s and early 70s was VietNam vets who couldn't get a job because employers were afraid to hire them. There are still a lot of homeless vets whose benefits have either been cut or haven't kept up with inflation. The VA hospitals have been overcrowded and have been pushing sick people out the door. Are there some bums out there? Of course. When wuld you like to spend money on them? Before they become homeless? WHen they are homeless? Wait until they kill an old lady for food money? If I happenned to hit someone who was standing beside him, I'd keep shooting til I killed Arafat. Sometimes ya gotta do what accomplishes the "greater good". Say for example you could have killed Hitler, but in doing so, you'd have to kill a couple hundred innocent people, but you'd save 12 million lives...what would YOU do?
