soxfan420
i know he is old but he would make a good #5 pitcher
mac9001
Yeah, but i'd only give him like 20-24 starts, mostly against teams that dont hit well against lefties.

YASNY
Finley pitched like crap with Cleveland. He was more effective with St. Louis, but that is the minor... I mean, National League. If we need a fill in starter, we can get one.
kj1832
I agree Finley is too old and for the most part pitched poorly the last 2 years he was in the American League with Cleveland. If we can't sign Rogers ( and I would not offer him more than KW did), I would give the youngsters a shot at the #5 spot.

baggio202
Rauch has the spot. id sign finley to a minor league contract..let him battle it out for the 5th spot...yeah he is old and didnt pitchwell last year but damn..he did have alot , i mean alot of bulls*** going on to distract him...that should be all behind him now the best reason to sign finley is if he lands that 5th spot then loiaza and rauch go to charlotte and that gives us two pitchers to call up during the season...pretty good bet we will need a 6th and 7th starter somewhere during the season... wsgdf
I think the Cards offered Finley arbitration. Doesn'y that mean if the Sox sign him they lose a first rounder? I don't think he's worth it. I wonder if that rule changes if you sign him to a major league contract.

If Finley signed a minor league contract would we still have to give up compensation for him? If not, then I'd definately sign him to a minor league deal. Chuck is a good veteran presence and knows how to pitch.
Jim Fainter
Todd Ritchie knows how to pitch, too. We don't need to clutter up our roster with guys like Finley and Ritchie.
Rex Hudler
Yes, any team that signs Finley will lose a draft pick, which is a big reason why demand for him is limited.
Chisoxfn
He should of just accepted arbitration. He'd of been making quite a bit of money and playing on a good team.
YASNY
I remember reading that the reason Finley did not accept arbitration, is that we wants to go back to the west coast. I can't blame him for that, but it could turn out to be a huge mistake for him.
