BrandoFan
I am sorry, but this man is obvisuoly on THG and growth hormone agent and lord knows what else. 1900 OPS in a pitcher's park, with ridiculously bad line-up protection? 36 walks to 6 K's? There is just no way.
1549
I would not be surprised to see him bat .400 this year. Perhaps the only thing that will keep him out of the record books are walks. If he keeps his BA over .500, no pitcher will throw the ball over the plate, and he won't get the necessary at-bats. If they do throw to him, there is not much stopping him from batting below .400. The guy is just a artificially created beast.

Nokona
There's no way that you can honestly bash his ability. His eyesight, his swing. It's all a gift. If there getting eye steroids you can come talk to me. Until then, he is the best player i've ever seen.

Batting Title: To qualify for the batting chamionship, a player must have a minimum of 502 plate appearances or 3.1 plate appearances per number of his team's games. WHarris1
Yeah, since anyone who takes steroids just swings and the ball flies away, and can naturally know what a ball and a strike is.
SuperSteve
I got nothing against steroids...its his choice.

witesoxfan
Even if he's on steroids, his numbers are amazing. Exactly. Regardless of roids or no roids...he has put up some insane numbers thus far.
BrandoFan
Regardless of roids or no roids...he has put up some insane numbers thus far. Regardless of whether or not you were timed, you got 1600 on your SAT. Sorry, doesn't work that way. Please study the REAL effects of those substances. The difference between Barry the 1000 OPS HOF'er and Berroids the 1800 OPS 40yo Freak = new generation of steroids. Balco is simply icing on the case, er, cake. BTW.......How does it feel to know that Frank Thomas was the real MVP in 2000 and instead got nothing? Or that 30 years from now, Sammy Juisa will be the one remembered as the Chicago Slugger? As MX would say....y'got bamboozl'd, partna.
Gene Honda Civic
Brando -- Did you see his AB vs. Gagne? Sure he may be on roids, but roids do not improve your reaction time or your hand-eye coordination. In that AB, bonds crushed a 99MPH fastball into McCovey Cove, but foul. On the next pitch, he adjusted his swing timing, and CRUSHED a 99MPH fastball into the stands in right center. -- There is no other hitter in Baseball who can do that. Sure tons of guys can hit a 99MPH fastball, and they can hit it a long way too, but not off of Gagne, not when they have to protect against a 73MPH Sharp-breaking curveball. That's just freakish skill there.
CrimsonWeltall
Though more than 5% of players are on steroids, apparently only Barry is getting the SUPER ROIDS, because no one is even close to matching him.

Nokona
Also, did you see the special on either SC or Baseball Tonight where they timed his swing? He doesn't start it until the ball is something like 25 feet away from him. That's amazing.

Barry Bonds is one player I want to see play before he retires, especially when he is at the top of his game like this. He is flat out incredible. I've seen him in person once -- That was enough -- Bonds vs. Colon -- It think we remember that game -- Bond 0-3 with 3K's vs. Colon so far in the game, Going for the golden sombrero -- He Parks it. Ah, I do recall that game. Bonds took our asses deep in all.3.games. The worst memory about that game is that Marte gave up a grand slam to Aurilia, no? I was at that game. I remember being soooo pissed that they let Colon face Bonds a 4th time. And then he hit the longest HR I have EVER seen at that park. And that is including Frank's concourse shot. Barry hit it over 500 feet easy. He got gyped on the measurement.

By bringing up Bonds homers, you make me remember the World Series 2 years ago. That homer he had off of Percival was awwwwsome. I still don't think that thing has landed yet.
