NUKE_CLEVELAND
This guy Uribe is a freekin stud. He needs to stay right here and Valentin can take his 5 million dollar salary elsewhere.
SuperSteve
Id rather have him at SS and Uribe at 2B.
MnSoxFan
Id rather have him at SS and Uribe at 2B. Exactly, these guys wanting to get rid of Jose are not thinking straight. He is the glue to the team, like him or not.

But, wait..........the team obviously plays better without Manos -- that's why they're about to fall to 5-6 on the season when he doesn't start. If they're lucky, Cleveland will return so they could almost sweep us at home again
witesoxfan
I say trade Lee for a solid starter. Move Rowand/Maggs to LF, and put Harris in CF. Call up Reed is Harris starts to suck ass.
elrockinMT
Stop already with the trade Jose Valentin talk! For crying out loud people enough is enough. Heck, it seems that every player on this team who goes 0-4, made an error, blew a save, got caught stealing, etc, etc, gets the hook and a trade demand from some fans. Cooooooollllll iiittttt! Reeee-llllaaaaxxxx! Take a deep breath for pete's sake and be positive about the players we have on the field. We are winning more than we are losing and that's what counts. SoxAce
I'm a big Willie Harris fan (sorry to say but I am) and I wouldn't mind a Uribe/Harris platoon. But w/o Jose, this team is nothing. He brings that veteran leadership and he's a very popular man in the clubhuse. If they trade him, I think. that it would mess up that chemistry. (O, and those 25 hrs. of his would hurt too)

SoxAce
I wouldn't mind a Harris/Uribe DP combo I should have said. My bad.

Uribe has been playing extremely well but he's not going to bat .400 on the season. Trust me, I love him and I got him on my fantasy team as soon as Jose went on the DL but relax, there are no trades happening anytime soon. YASNY
Jose has been with Sox since 2000. If some fans cannot see that he is a valuable asset to this team by now, I give up.
israel4ever
IF we can get Valentin playing up to his potential, then, you can trade him. You can't get "value" for him with the numbers he has put up as of today's date. (IMO, if he get's his numbers up, why would we want to trade him?) Think we can trade Willie Harris and/or Danny Wright and/or Jon Rausch for a starter?
redandwhite
trading Jose is a moot point and just is not going to happen especially with him carrying that 5 million dollar luggage along with this low .200 batting average.
BrandoFan
You can't get "value" for him with the numbers he has put up as of today's date. I know he had a slow start (1-for-12) and all, but last time I checked his 910 OPS is 3rd of all SS, only behind Uribe and Wilson. His 4 errors, although disappointing, don't look nearly as bad when you realize he leads MLB in range (weighted ZoneRating) and is 9th in DP efficiency. The team plays better with him in the line-up for some reason as well. If that's a "slow" start, I can't wait 'til he heats it up.
