soxfan420
if kansas is out of it at the trading deadline do we go after him? and patch up that whole in centerfield?? i think so, but we also need to pick up a 5th starter.
R.J.
Can Carlos Beltran pitch and/or play second base? We'd have to give up too much to spend a half a season with Beltran, despite all five of his tools. We already have one top 10 outfielder out of our price range to deal with this offseason. Plus, we have Reed itching to take the CF spot if we need it. iWiN4PreP
even tho i love Beltran, i have to agree with R.J., They need to re-sign maggs, and get a 5th starter
DBAHO
He's goin to the Yankees, nowhere else. Doesn't matta if it happens at the trade deadline or in free agency, he will be wearin pin stripes in the future.
EvilJester99
KC would never trade him to someone in their own division anyway. I agree he will be with the Yankmees b4 the trade deadline.

What exactly do the Yankees have to offer in a trade????? I see him in a Dodger uniform, at least if he's moved during the season.
southsider2k5
In a word, no. In a little longer post. There is no way in hell we mortgage the farm to get a Scott Boras client who will be gone at the end of the year.
JDsDirtySox
I am going to agree with the Ghost. I am certain Beltran will end up in Los Angeles. They have great prospects to deal, and will be in the NL West Race in the end.

BrandoFan
Absolutely not. The only way Sox get Beltran is if Jeremy Reed develops 30HR power. Give me a 23yo Reed at 300K than a 27yo Beltran at 15M

SoxFanForever
$$$$$$. Yeah, sad but true. The Royals will just want some average and fringe prospects as long as they get some $$$ for him. Not like it is the first time the Yanks have bought a player via trade.

Not like it is the first time the Yanks have bought a player via trade. In soccer, if you want Ronaldo or Figu or Becks, just pay his old club 30 Mill buyout fee with which they will totally revamp their farm/scouting system and build a top-of-the-line training facility, thus recruiting the future Ronaldos or Shevchenkos and selling them for an even more exorbitant price when time comes....Done and done. SoxFan562004
KC wouldn't want to trade him in the division and Sox wouldn't want to trade their young talent within the division. He'll be a Yankee or Cub by August 1st
T R U
We dont have a problem at 2nd base.. so it doesnt matter if Beltran an play 2nd or not.. Willie Harris is doing a great job, and will continue..

redandwhite
It's not that less teams aren't trading with the Yankees its more the fact that the Yankees have absolutely nothing to trade.... Until this draft, and them pretty confident in their young catcher Navarro, the Yankees will be getting nothing and its so sweet.
