BrandoFan
Obvisously he is not seeing the ball as he does at home with that background. Also, he's got nothnig to do betweem at-bats but to dwell. Thirdly, that swing....It's like he has NO chance of hitting the ball to CF/RF anymore -- he gets a knee-high batting practice fastball middle of the plate (slightly away) on a 2-1 count from Ainsworth and instead of hitting it 400 feet to RCF, pops it up to 2B. I mean, if he is a pull hitter only, then why did he wait so long on that pitch and not to turn on it? He is looking INFINITELY better at home. Should Sox play him at 1B just to help with his timing? Rotate him on the road with Paulie?
Reddy
oh no... he's 0-3 tonight... thats enough to pass a judgement on him i see...
Be Good
I think it couldnt hurt to play Frank at 1st base, on the road, once or so a series.
greasywheels121
Frank with the basehit up the middle in the 7th....
BrandoFan
oh no... he's 0-3 tonight... thats enough to pass a judgement on him i see... Wake up, little buddy. Here're some facts: At Home.....1400 OPS; solid clutch numbers On the Road.......615 OPS; abominable clutch numbers How effin' obvious can something get? I don't expect Frank to be as good on the road -- most players are better at home --, but the gap is too fricken wide. Let him play 1B if that means a 300 OPS point boost. Paulie does ok as a DH. BrandoFan
Frank with the basehit up the middle in the 7th.... I think it's hysterical how some dopes are trying to "prove" me wrong. [ME]: "That Danny Wright sure is terrible." [HOMER #357]: "Yeah, and he just struck out Delgado.... " [ME]: "Ross Gload chokes with stunning regularity" [HOMER #252]: "He just got down a bunt.... " I love it.

BrandoFan
Frank, that's called "ball 4" 3:0 swinging only makes sense when you get your pitch.....
Reddy
i'll agree with you there... but actually on the mlb gameday it had it as in the strike zone anyway... but still that doesnt excuse swinging on 3-
witesoxfan
i'll agree with you there... but actually on the mlb gameday it had it as in the strike zone anyway... but still that doesnt excuse swinging on 3-0 That thing is inaccurate. If someone swung at a pitch in their eyes, that thing would say it is in the strike zone.
BobDylan
Frank, that's called "ball 4" 3:0 swinging only makes sense when you get your pitch..... You could see the hesitation in his swing. Then when they showed him walking back, he knew it. Lay off Frank, he's the best hitter this franchise has ever seen.

Lay off Frank, he's the best hitter this franchise has ever seen. agreed Frank's eye has been as flawless as humanly possible this year and once a big hitter hitter lays off every 3-0 pitch he is toast I trust Frank's instincts any time when he is at the plate
BrandoFan
Dylan, CW......read the f***ing post carefully, esp the follow-up one. There I explain to Reddy my concern and offer a suggestion how to fix it.

BrandoFan
At Home.....1400 OPS; solid clutch numbers On the Road.......615 OPS; abominable clutch numbers So should Ozzie put him at 1B in road games? Seems like a no brainer.
Wong & Owens
So should Ozzie put him at 1B in road games? Seems like a no brainer. Well, wait, why would playing him at 1B make his road hitting better? I know the splits between Frank playing first and Frank dh-ing, but If Frank is hitting at hoime while dh-ing, I don't see how playing him in the field to improve his batting is a no-brainer. He's faced KC, NY, TB, on the road so far, how does he historically hit in these parks? Yankee Stadium isn't friendly to right handed batters, yes? And nobody like playing in the Juice Box, so maybe the splits are an abberation? MAybe wait until he gets a few more road games under his belt? He also has a sweet batting cage set-up at home -- on the road, he sukls and overanalyzes on the bench. The above splits are cartoonishly bad. Put him at 1B.
