southsider2k5
Its been about 15 years since the Sox were in the top 10. IIRC we had the longest current streak in MLB.
DBAHO
5 picks in the 1st 59, gives us an excellent chance at restocking the farm system. We should be loookin at ptichers, a middle infielder, and maybe a catcher or first baseman with those early picks. This year's draft isn't meant to be very deep with position players and it's more of a pitching draft.
SoxAce
I'm hoping we pick a pitcher in the 1st round. If not, I woulnd't mind a infielder, but I'm sure we'll pick more pitchers if anything in this round for us.
LDF
if it isn't a deep draft, how strong is it and in what position.
Chisoxfn
Their are some very impressive college players available. This seems like a pretty strong draft to me.
danman31
I'm thinking we are going to get boring pitchers with most of the first 5 picks. I say that's boring because that's what everybody does. It's fun to see position players develop because they play everyday. I'd like to see us go after infielders and catchers. Obviously we will pick pitchers and the OF is definitely set in the minors. redandwhite
look for one of the Rice kids to fall in the White Sox' lap..
Chisoxrd5
From what I have seen of the draft reports it is Pitcher heavy and position player light...There are a number of good college pitchers and some high school talent....The college level is extremely thin in quality position players so the majority of early round position players will be High school developmental talent... Its still a little early and many of the draft publications have not yet come out, it usually heats up in the next two weeks so you will be able to find more information then... Im following the draft pretty closely this year because im pretty good friends with a few future draftees....So I'll try to keep everyone updated... SkokieSox
if it isn't a deep draft, how strong is it and in what position. I wouldn't stress it, there is some major talent out there in the draft. How far they fall, we'll just have to see.
Harry Chappas
The short of it is I think Ananheim had a bad enough record that we couldn't get that high of a pick and Quantrill was better than Gordon. Doesn't something carry over into next years draft???? I think the Sox should go with what the Bears did, grab as many college guys as they can get unless a Sweeney type is out there.
