israel4ever
I'd rather get Kerry Collins than Kurt Warner. More upside plus you don't have to give up a draft choice to get him.

SnB
There's a part of me that likes this trade, then there's the other part that hates it. The security of having 2 capable QB's is great, but I'm not sold on warner being able to accept a backup role......
1549
This does not seem to be a popular opinion, but I think Warner should be given the reigns.
hammerhead johnson
This does not seem to be a popular opinion, but I think Warner should be given the reigns. We'd lose like 13 games. Remember, he fumbled 7 times on opening day last year. We're talking about a Rams team that has great offensive tackles, and guys like Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, and Torry Holt at the skill positions. Basically, he might have the worst footwork of any quarterback in the last 25 years. And we have a promising young QB in Grossman. You don't want to mess with that. It is ridiculous to judge a guy based on his only start (and he was playing with a concussion), and Kerry Collins has by far the worst footwork of NFL quarterbacks (and the worst hands). As for Rex. Rex has a ton of talent, and I don't think sitting him will affect him, or his ability. I think it can be helpful, to play behind Warner. Kerry Collins and Kurt Warner both have horrible footwork, but I'd say that Kurt takes the cake. 7 fumbles....I wonder why it was his only start. And you just said yourself that Rex has a ton of talent. Why would we push him to the side for a short term option?

Obviously if Rex had an awesome camp, and is playing like he knows all the nuances than he should get the job. But as a guy with only a few starts under his belt, it would not hurt to spend more time learning.
Chisoxfn
But factor that Martz is the head coach most likely to kill your quarterback. He doesn't even utilize Marshall Faulk, especially this past year.

If it was up to me, though, I'd let him learn on the job, as Troy Aikman did when he went 1-15 in his first year. Otherwise, we'll have to put up with the crap in 2005, and maybe even 2006. I don't mind an 8-8 record in 2004, as long as Grossman can get a full year of experience underneath his belt.

As far as him being appointed head coach, take a look at the owner over there in St. Louis. Football knowledge is nonexistant over there. The dumbest super bowl winner in the history of the sport, perhaps.

The Beast
From Rotoworld: Kurt Warner's agent told the AP today that he would be willing to sign a one-year deal for this season. It sounds like Warner will be a member of the New York Giants this season. He's not recommended in any fantasy league.
