WSox30
If you could make any one change to the 2004 Chicago White Sox, what would it be?
BrandoFan
Set the budget limit at 80 Mill instead of 60 (they're over right now). With 15 extra Mill (and prospects), you could buy all sorts of talent around July. An ace. A lead-off hitting 2B. A closer. Maybe more, with a salary exchange. ChiSox_Sonix
call up Reed and bat him in the 2 spot
redandwhite
call up Reed and bat him in the 2 spot trade Lee, get a good starter and call up Reed.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
If you could make any one change to the 2004 Chicago White Sox, what would it be? Make Billy Botch the water boy and sew the Big Skirt's lips shut.
winninguglyin83
trade for Kip Wells.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
trade for Kip Wells. I heard he may be on the block too. That'd be a good move to help shore up the rotation cause Cotts aint ready.
YASNY
Right now, with the players we have, I'd tweak the lineup as so: Harris Olivo Maggs Thomas Lee Valentin Konerko Crede Rowand/Perez I'd let Uribe hit in the same postion as the player he is subbing for, and he'd be in there for someone, almost daily. Putting JV is the 6 spot breaks up that string of RH hitters. Those opposing pitchers can just get into groove seeing the same thing batter after batter. Olivo has been handling the bat well enough and is speedy enough to be effective in the two hole.
Soxfest
Get a true CF and send AR to Siberia.
israel4ever
Find someone dumb enough to trade for Konerko and/or Valentin. The Sox NEED a 2B and a starter.
Wong & Owens
Find someone dumb enough to trade for Konerko and/or Valentin. The Sox NEED a 2B and a starter. Dont know what team you've been watching, but 2B ain't a big problem. A lefty bat(preferably in CF), and another starter.
Steff
Make Billy Botch the water boy and sew the Big Skirt's lips shut. That's 2 things...
EvilJester99
I would have Reinsdorf and group sell the team.
beck72
Trade Konerko [possibly to LA, maybe a salary swap for Jeff Weaver to free up space. [Weaver is owed $15.5 mill over next two years, PK owed $16.75; LA could put Green back in RF; Dave Roberts blew out his hammy and is on the DL, the same one he hurt last year. My guess is LA plans on getting by without him, esp. with Bradley in CF. Ventura is at 1B now. PK could platoon w/ him at worst] Frank can play 1B, along with Ross Gload, or Jeremy Reed. Reed could get regular time at 1B [his spot his first 2 years in college, his Jr, year he played OF] to see if he can hit in the bigs. If he hits, it makes Lee tradeable for a possible ace by the trading deadline. Players can rotate in the DH spot, with Valentin seeing the majority of time there, along with Lee. While Weaver may never regain his Det. form, he could be a solid #5. He's always had success vs. the AL Central. A steady diet of Central teams may be what he needs. The key is the Sox have too many power hitting RH, who can't hit an off speed pitch. If every pitcher threw a 2-0 fastball to PK, he'd be in the HOF. Moving PK is the first step toward retooling the Sox lineup, giving them flexibility to move guys around who aren't so one-dimensional as PK. WSox30
I'd probably move slick Willie to CF! I would prefer reed to play center
greasywheels121
I would also change the lineup around.... CF--Harris LF--Lee RF--Ordonez DH--Thomas 1B--Konerko SS--Valentin 2B--Uribe 3B--Crede C--Olivo
Chisoxfn
If you could make any one change to the 2004 Chicago White Sox, what would it be? I would get another stud pitcher in here and have Reed up here in the two hole. I'd probably add a left handed bat as well, maybe find a way to get Casey for Konerko or something. SnB
Trade Lee for a starter Call Up reed.
Rowand44
Trade Lee for a starter Call Up reed. I'll add a couple things to that cause that's what I'd do also. But I'd then stick willie in center and uribe at 2b and reed in left. And my lineup would look like this: 1. willie cf 2. uribe 2b 3. Maggs rf 4. Frank dh 5. Jose ss 6. PK 1b 7. Reed lf 8. Crede 3b 9. Olivo c
Confederate_48
Didnt Lee do really good last year in the 2 spot ?? Would it help maybe to move him back there again ??
witesoxfan
I'd probably move slick Willie to CF! Yeah, I would do that too. But then I put Uribe at 2B. We don't need a 2Bman...or a SS. BTW, if I could do one thing, I'd get an ace.
WSox30
Didnt Lee do really good last year in the 2 spot ?? Would it help maybe to move him back there again ?? Carlos had 253 at bats in the 2 spot last year and batted .320. I hope ozzie will at least try him again at the two spot after waht he did last year
Confederate_48
I thought he batted 2nd alot last year and did pretty good. If it works i dont see why they dont try it.
