Chisoxrd5 Posted May 10, 2004 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Thought this was interesting....Baldwin catches on with the Mets big league club Chicago Tribune-Baldwin The Associated Press Ex-Sox Baldwin back in the bigs May 9, 2004, 10:11 PM CDT The Mets recalled right-hander James Baldwin from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday and optioned rookie Tyler Yates to New York's top minor-league team. Baldwin, who has pitched in 236 major league games, was 3-2 with a 2.90 ERA in five starts for Norfolk this season and is expected to start for the Mets on Monday night in Arizona. The 32-year-old Baldwin is 70-79 with a 5.02 ERA in his major-league career that includes tours with the White Sox, Los Angeles, Seattle and Minnesota. He has made 200 career starts and was the winning pitcher in the 2000 All-Star Game in Atlanta, the same season he was 14-7 for the Sox. The right-handed Yates was 1-4 with a 6.04 ERA in six starts for the Mets and was the losing pitcher Saturday, dropping a 6-2 decision to the Milwaukee Brewers.
