Cali
A little off the subject, but you going to be back in Cali when the Sox are in town against the Angels? Oh, Yeah. That series is in September right?
Chisoxfn
Oh, Yeah. That series is in September right? Yep, the 10th, 11th, and 12th.
Cali
Yep, the 10th, 11th, and 12th. Sounds good. I really hope that that series "means" something. And I really don't wanna see any more 19-1 bulls*** again...

WSox30
Why would they not start Diaz tonight if he wasn't going to be called up?!? Diaz has to be the man!!
Cerbaho-WG
As Baseball Prospectus put it: (Referring to Jon Adkins) "That he's been kept on the 40-man roster suggests that the Sox are an organization that makes up in stubbornness what it lacks in depth." If Grilli gets called up over Diaz, walked eight f***ing batters in 5 innings in his last start nonetheless, my respect for KW just flew out the window. Chisoxfn
Agreed, I think espn 1000 just didn't do enough research on this. Its no secret the Sox are going to be leaving espn 1000 when their contract is up with the score replacing them. Or at least thats my feeling. WHarris1
It seems like such a no-brainer to bring up Diaz, they Sox couldn't be dumb enough to bring up Grilli could they?
Chisoxfn
I can only think of one reason why the Sox wouldn't bring him up and thats that they are planning on acquiring another starter so they are only looking at Grilli or whoever making just one start. If thats the case then you may not want Diaz to come up and potentially get hard only to get sent right back down to the minors. Personally, I think before the Sox make any trades, unless they are getting a truly damn good pitcher, they should give Diaz a shot because he has the stuff to be a sucessful pitcher at the mlb level. Grilli also has good stuff and he has major league experience so I can see if they wanted to go with him if it was more of a spot start type thing becuase he'd be more likely to handle this. Still, I don't find the above very likely and I'd be pissed if Diaz wasn't the man called up. Plus, i'd also be puzzled as to why he was brought in from the pen. Butter Parque
It's time to give Diaz a chance. Lets just hpe he can find the strike zone unlike most of our pitching prospects.
CWSOX45
Tonite was Diaz's night to start, can anyone verify that Rauch actually did make a spot start tonight for Diaz? CWSOX45
WHarris1
Tonite was Diaz's night to start, can anyone verify that Rauch actually did make a spot start tonight for Diaz? CWSOX45 Yes, Rauch did start tonight. I listened to a pitch on their streming audio to make sure he did.
Gene Honda Civic
Tonite was Diaz's night to start, can anyone verify that Rauch actually did make a spot start tonight for Diaz? CWSOX45 Rauch started -- went 4.2IP -- Diaz pitched yesterday .2IP. He came on in relief of Grilli.
WHarris1
Please don't be stupid and call up Grilli. Please bring up Diaz and pitch him Saturday. I am becoming afraid that Grilli get's called up.

quickman
I can really see Grilli doing big things in the majors, but no one else deserves to be there on Saturday more than Diaz. when can you see him doing BIG Things. This guy will be nothing more than a journeyman pitcher.
aboz56
when can you see him doing BIG Things. This guy will be nothing more than a journeyman pitcher. I agree, I have seen Grilli twice now and have come away unimpressed both times.

Harry Chappas
I agree with the post that if it is Grilli, it is a short term thing with a trade in the works. Although Diaz being held back makes me think it will be him. Ah, I don't know I just hope whoever it is, they get the job done and pitch Thursday and not against the Twins.
