Chisoxfn
From Chicagosports.com Frank Thomas has been working out at the Sox's complex with his former hitting coach, Walt Hriniak. "You have to tip your hat to [Thomas] because he's trying to get his thing back together," Manuel said. "I think this will be a big year for him. He has a real established guy [in Magglio Ordonez] hitting behind him." Anyway, he says Maggs will be hitting behind him which implies that Thomas will be back to his old slot, the 3 hole with Konerko hitting fifth. baggio202
as long as he is producing the big man should bat wherever he wants...within reason
kevingrt13
Frank still has to bat at #3. Back in 2000 we had all the success with Frank at the three spot, and I don't think we would get any better moving him to the five spot. Frank is still a capable .300, 40 HR, 120 RBI guy I think. I just hope he can produce those numbers. He has the potential it's just if everything goes well in the clubhouse as in team chemistry. WhiteSoxPride3035
Frank will be the Sox's #3 guy until he retires. He has performed good there, and will continue to throughout the rest of his career. One bad season under his belt won't change where he stands. He is one of the greatest offensive threats the White Sox have ever had, and one bad season can't change that.
cwsox
I like Frank at #3 and he was so goof for us in 2000, I don't remember how many 1st inning runs he gave us in 2000 but he was either putting us in the lead or getting us ont he scoreboard after the other scored in the 1st which put us right back in the games - he did ok at #5 last year though but that was a special situation I think - assuming Frank is all the way (as I do) I'd want to see him at #

I never thought Frank would be hitting anywhere else but 3rd this season..... unless he struggles.
BigHurt4evah
I never knew there was any doubt Frank would be hitting 3rd I thought it was implied from the start who our 3,4,5 guys would be. I think he'll be 3rd for awhile, but will probably move back later in his carreer.
whitesox247
if frank hits over .270 with decent power, there should be no reason he doesnt hit third
kj1832
Frank has hit 3rd the majority of his career with great sucess. He should continue to hit in the 3rd slot as long as he produces, especially if he gets his walk total back up to over 100 again like he did for years. supernuke
Frank should hit third until he proves he isn't capable. He is most comfortable there and will likely put up the best numbers hitting there.
YASNY
All those years that Ventura was with us, I thought he should be #3 and Frank clean up. Frank was the definition of a clean up hitter. I never understood why they insisted on him batting third. Well, Robin's gone now, so yes, Frank should be there at this point. He's nailed it down for a vast majority of his career. cwsox
Frank has always felt most comfortable at 3rd which is why he was there then and now
toasty
YASNY--- Frank bats 3rd so he can bat in first inning.... more run scoring opportunities than if he started the 2nd inning off, if the first three went down in order. if we didnt have frank, i would put paulie there but frank should stay there
