Chisoxfn
Rauch doesn't seem to be pitching that poorly this year, his YTD ERA is 3.29... Don't forget he spot started yesterday for Diaz, so that's probably why he went only 4 and 2/3 Well prior to that he's also had trouble getting out of the 5th. Then again the Knights haven't been letting much any of their pitchers go deep.
Chisoxfn
Why? There is no reason to take him off the 40-man roster right now. Sit him down for a week or two to let him clear his mind. Hell, send him to extended ST if you have to, but the guy needs a break to get himself back together. Danny is a good guy and still has a chance to be a big league pitcher in the bullpen. Rather than kick a guy while he is down, why not support him and hope he makes it back successfully? I have full support for DW. Everything I've heard says he has an amazing work ethic and a great attitude when he gets sent to Charlotte. I think he knows he has to improve and if he's hurt I hope he can get healthy. Wright just doesn't look like he did pre injury. But I'm with Rex, you don't designate an arm like that, you keep and stick with that down in the minors and if he gets things solved he gets things solved. If he doesn't, your giving a good guy a shot.
Chisoxfn
The way the Sox are treating Buehrle is nothing new. Plenty of organizations have had the belief, more in the past, that the bullpen is a great way to develop starting pitchers. You can ease them in and get them comfortable and then eventually move them to the rotation. I think the Braves have done that with some of their younger pitchers and it had worked well and if I recall the Astros were very big on that a while back. I like the way the Sox are working with Cotts. He's getting put in pressure situations and on the most part has been pitching consistent. He'll get stretched out eventually, and right now he's doing a tremendous job for the Sox. He's got a very bright future.
YASNY
I have no problem with the way they are handling Cotts. He'll be all the better for having this major leagueexperience and knowing that he can be effective against major league hitters. As for Danny Wright, this guy is a mystery to me. He look sharp in ST from what I understand and since then has been terrible. Whatever the problem is, he needs to sort it out down in AAA and not in Chicago, that's for damn sure.
