I heard on the score this morning that the Sox may be looking at Tom Glavine. I am sure the Sox can get the Mets to pay some of his salary in a deal. Isn't Glavine near 90 years old though?? Sheesh.

Glavine's havin a pretty good season in New York so far, 4-2 with a 2.4 ERA. He's 38 though, prob could go like Jamie Moyer has for the next 2 years though. Depends what the Mets want for him, mayb a starter prospect?

He'd come cheaper than Garcia as far as prospects are concerned. But three LHP's in the rotation who have similar stuff doesn't make much sense. A RHP like Garcia, who can go deep in games and get a lot of K's, makes much more sense even if the Sox have to overpay.

 

But whatever salary comes with the SP, another Sox salary would have to go.

I would think the Sox may try to shop C Lee for Garcia. Seattle is in need of a big hitter.
