Guest hotsoxchick1
murc if you need a burst of energy try a b complex or some korean gensing.....both will give you what ephedra does without the risks.....met rex also makes some good products you can get at the local gnc or drug store which will also give you the boost you need.... all natural too i may add...... i do seriously advise you to stop the ephedra stuff though......think of it this way.... when your kidneys start to fail you at the age of 35 do you really want to be caught walking around in depends for the rest of your life?????? cwsox
another name for ephedra is Ma Huang or variant spellings thereof - stay away from it - and skip the stuff with caffeine too - which only artificially boost heart rate when you are strenuously using your body - HSC has given some nice alternatives, and there are plenty of energy things out there with no ephedra/ma huang and and no caffeine that will work just fine and be all natural and enhance your work out, not kill you - this weekend I am getting my re-certification done as a fitness specialist - I would imagine that for those of you who have met me, you think, he is is a fitness leader?? and I may not not look like it but I am and have the 9% total body fat, the blood presure, heart rate (60) and cholesteral levels to back it up - which I say not to brag but just to say I know a little about this and I work with this stuff - and I used to do the ephedra too and saw what that did to the numbers for my own self - so I'm not some old guy preaching at young guys, I am just trying to say there are safe ways to achieve your goals without jeopardizing your life
Soxfest
Ephedra seems to come up more and more something has to give. 81 degrees is not that hot so there is more to this than being told?
Guest hotsoxchick1
81 degrees on the outside does not necessarly mean 81 degrees on the inside.......and with lack of water and such to keep the insides cooled down can make one cook their organs as young the pitcher in the story has done here......... hey cw i need a new trainer... mines not making me work hard enough, can you move out this way and help me out here...........i gotta get ready for opening day ya know....... Pete_SSAC
They did find nutritional supplements that contain effedrin in his locker....so effedrin kills again. I hope they make that an illegal drug for all...as it is, it is only illegal for those under the age of 18. That s*** is serious....causes heart attacks and seizures and all types of stuff like that...and it apparently also causes heat strokes. After all this, the goverment better look closely at effedrin....it is frickin deadly and should be banned by all and never produced again. If this stuff is as "deadly" as you're saying, then the people taking it have to be responsible and either stop taking it, or deal with the consequences of taking it. Early on, this was not possible because it wasn't as obvious that it's dangerous (and I don't know if it is or not, nor do we know if he was even taking the stuff, but I'm saying it is and that he did for the sake of this discussion). But now there is awareness, and people need to take notice of it. The person I feel bad for is his wife and yet-born child. He was a 23 year old guy -- plenty old to be able to make the right decision. It's unfortunate that he had to take something to make him lose weight -- a little discipline is all a person needs to stay in good shape (unless they "have a thyroid problem"). I take it usually an hour before hockey.......because It gives me an energy boost........but now I am seriously thinking about stopping... *b****slap* - Pete

WhiteSoxPride3035
Guys, guys, guys; you got it all wrong. It's all about the ROOT BEER! Ahhhhh you can't ever have enough of that stuff. Mmmmmmm nice, crisp, frothy goodness in every drink. Espeically fresh made, not the kind in a can.
WhiteSoxPride3035
I don't know why we are all talking about getting an energy boost in the topic of a pitcher dying. Seems kind of sad to me, even though I just made a post about soda as well. I guess we should all be ashamed... Or we can just start our own topic about energy boosters. Someone should start a forum about it... maybe even.... me! Away I go!
