CSF
Just saw it on BBTN. If he's hurt, that could be really bad for the Northsiders.
flippedoutpunk
Wow they reported that, that fast? I dont even think they've reported our spanking of the Orioles yet!

DonkeyKongerko
Most likely causes are blisters or back spasms. Either way I don't expect Wood to finish the season without a trip to the DL.

No Prior they can be pretty good. No Prior and Wood = losing season.

Wise Master Buehrle
Cubs broadcast said arm trouble. Uh oh... Dusty over-using Wood. Maybe blown his arm. Uh oh spaghettios. Not good for the Cubs.
witesoxfan
Cubs broadcast said arm trouble. If he's done, the Cubs are done. Right now, so goes Kerry Wood, so go the Cubs
BrandoFan
I hope his elbow exploded. Schadenfreude is awesome. Nope, can't do. Ben Christensen or Pete Rose? Sure. Wood may be a lil petulant sometimes, but ultimately I think he is a good guy. His "I choked" comments last October were great. He carried his team on his back through the playoffs, so he of all people earned the right to have an off day. You'd never hear Shammy say anything like that, but Wood he took it like a man. Respect. DonkeyKongerko
Still think they need both Prior AND Wood healthy to take the NL Central. With one injured only the wild card is definitely in reach.
flippedoutpunk
Wood is definately a likeable guy, i wouldnt wish any kind of hurt against him. I liked his lil bit on EPSN 1000 about crappin in your hat to cure your head pains as opposed to pissin on your hands to make them harder. BrandoFan
Uh oh... Dusty over-using Wood. Maybe blown his arm. Uh oh spaghettios. Not good for the Cubs. Which is why Manuel was very smart not to let Loaiza, Buerhle and Garland throw more than 100-105 pitches -- not only because Garland falls apart after 6 but also because modern pitchers have fragile arms, no way around it. Dusty Baker meanwhile tourinely allowed Prior, Clement, Zambrano and Wood throw 110-120 pitches, with a few 130+ games mixed in. And they are POWER throwers and sharp breakers onlike the Sox starters, so it's even worse. Hopefully Ozzie is not that stupid.
ChiSox_Sonix
i would never wish injury upon anyone. However, injuries are imminent and part of the game, and injuries happening to Cubs players (and Yankee$) dont make me feel all too bad
ChiSox_Sonix
tourinely sorry, but i found that funny
NUKE_CLEVELAND
Cubs broadcast said arm trouble. He's got a sore arm. GEE I WONDER WHY?!?!?!?!?
DonkeyKongerko
Ozzie did take Buehrle out of his shutout after 7 innings in a 15-0 blowout. I thought that was a good decision considering he has been pitching alot lately.
flippedoutpunk
He's got a sore arm. GEE I WONDER WHY?!?!?!?!? Mariotti demands nice hard strokes.

BrandoFan
If he's done, the Cubs are done. Right now, so goes Kerry Wood, so go the Cubs First of all, there is no way to know if this is serious. Secondly.....There is NO way Jim Hendry concedes the season, not with such high financial expectations (Wriggleymania), not with a 95 Mill payroll team, not with his ego. Prior is coming back. If they lose Wood, they will get Washburn or Perez or maybe even one of the Oakland Trio -- Hudson perhaps? Sure, it will cost them Guzman/Beltran and Cisco/Brownlie, but when your team is on the World Series mission and you have the money, you don't care so much about the prospects. True, they might not catch the Astros (then again, Clemens, Biggio, Bagwell are old and could succumb to injuries very easily), but there is this thing called WILD CARD -- who's gonna stop them, Dodgers? Braves? If Wood is down AND Prior is out until July....then they have a hill to climb, no doubt. Still, with their talent it's doable.
