BBQ Season is here!

A place on Roosevelt Road in Berwyn called Giovanni's used to have the best ribs I ever had, but I know the ownership there has changed and I haven't been back there in awhile, so I don't know if they're still as good.

Giovanni's is "bla" now. Their sauce it to "runny", IMO. Personally I like The Patio. But Carson's is very good, also.

Nothing beats the back yard variety though ;)

That figures, there wasn't another decent rib place within 10 miles of me. I was never a big fan of the Patio, but Carson's is still a good bet. Another place I thought of that had good ribs was the Red Barrel, on Archer and around Kostner or so. The place has a new name now, something like SZutukus, so I doubt they sell ribs anymore

I don't like ribs myself, but I like bbqing.  We have to get the tank filled, but since we just bought the grill at the end of last season, I think we will be doing plenty grilling this summer.

If you live in a house, you have to get the gas company out to run a line from the gas line to your grill. That way you never have to worry about filling the tank.

Very convenient.

Nicor won't run a natural gas or propane line. You have to hire an independent. We had it done while building the house we're in now. Very convenient indeed.. ;)

Know of any places in Texas that will ship to Chicago?

There's actually a story - then another to follow:

I used to work for an airline, the exec team is from here, but at the time, they were all living in Indiana. And they would for company get togethers they would always order BBQ and fly it up to Indiana. Then, having not been to Texas, that was always some good food! Of course, I'm convinced that is why management moved back to Texas, and they brought me with them, so that's why I'm here.

Anyway, part II is there's a couple of companies from Memphis that do mail order BBQ.

Difference between Memphis BBQ is it's dry BBQ, generally here in Texas it's wet.

Of course when you put the sauce on it's all good.

www.corkysbbq.com is one place that mail orders from Memphis, it's pretty good stuff.

There's others. Do a google search and you'll come up with quite a few.
