danman31
Birmingham lost 5-1 to Mobile. The Barons managed only 5 hits, 2 of them by Mike Spidale. Ryan Meaux pitched pretty well (6 IP, 2 ER), but Brian McNichol blew up. He surrendered his first earned runs of the season. Bull had 2 Ks in a perfect inning of work. Box Score The Warthogs beat Salem 6-5. Ryan Sweeney is heating up finally. He went 3-5 with a HR and 3 runs scored. Brian Anderson went 3-4, a HR short of the cycle, with 2 RBI. Andy Gonzalez went 0-2, but had 3 walks. He was able to score 2 runs as Sweeney and Anderson hit well behind him. Isn't that it's supposed to work? The leadoff men get on base and the power hitters bring 'em in. All 6 runs came from the 1-3 hitters in the lineup and all 5 RBI were by the 3-5 hitters. Nanita 0-4 with a walk and 2 Ks. Paulino Reynoso got shelled, but Purvis, Ray, and Pollok combined for 7 shutout innings of relief. Box Score Kanny beat Asheville 4-2. Valido went 2-5, but is still batting only .253. Cory Haggerty and Seth Morris each had HRs and Clint King had 2 doubles. Brian Miller with yet another quality start. Box Score

danman31
Charlotte's offense exploded. The Knights beat Scranton 13-9. Every Knight get on base. Reed went 2-5 with a walk and 3 runs. Borchard had 2 HRs with 7 RBI. Jamie Burke had 3 hits. Nelson, Smith, and Paz had 2 hits each. Kohlmeier was not at his best tonight. Wunsch got the win despite not pitching all that well himself. Sanders and Santiago pitched well though. Box Score

I agree with you because all it does is make the thread really long on a page.

MnSoxFan
Kanny article for yesterday game INTIMIDATORS STRAND TOURISTS END THREE GAME LOSING STREAK (Asheville, NC) – Brian Miller (4-2) allowed just two runs in six innings and the Kannapolis bullpen shutout the Tourists leading the Intimidators to Monday’s 4-2 win over Asheville. For the third time in the series, Kannapolis (20-18) started the scoring in the first inning. Cory Haggerty crossed home after a throwing error on a ground ball hit by Leo Daigle. Asheville (18-20) claimed the lead on Jordan Czarniecki’s long ball, a two run homer, scoring Ed Montague in the third inning. In the fourth inning, Seth Morris launched his third home run of the series, a two run shot over the left field wall putting Kannapolis ahead, 3-2. Cory Haggerty’s solo home run with two outs in the sixth doubled the Intimidators lead, 4-2. Frazier Dizard entered the game in relief of Todd Deininger who started the seventh and walked three before leaving with one out. Dizard worked out of the jam popping up the two batters he faced in the inning. Ehren Wasserman closed the ninth with a 1-2-3 inning for his team leading 7th save. The Intimidators return home to Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium Wednesday, May 19th for a 10:00AM Education Day vs. the Hagerstown Suns.
