CSF
Sammy Sosa has a sprained ligament in his lower back. He will be placed on the DL tomorrow. Link

BrandoFan
It is soooo tempting to be happy right now... As long as he stays on and off the DL til the All-Star Break, and as long as both Prio and Wood don't reain velocity..... Now we just need Ramirez to go into a Patterson-type identity crisis funk and Alou to start feeling his age (38), Sox will be on good shape. DonkeyKongerko
Sox will be on good shape. How does this help the Sox?
BrandoFan
How does this help the Sox? Do not let anybody tell you otherwise: Cubs are by far our biggest rival. When they fail and are miserable for an extended period of time, THAT's when the time is right for the Sox to start winning market share back, year by year. That when you need to beat the Twins and the Tribe. But Cubs have to start losing big and often - preferably for a decade straight. Of course there is no stopping the Cubs talent-wise, so injuries are our only prayer.

The Cubs haven't had back-to-back winning seasons in 30 years and yet still have a firm grasp on the local AND national "market share" despite being cellar dwellers for most of that time. The Sox won't gain many Cub fans to their side, no matter how badly the Cubs perform. The Sox need to take care of their own business and they might as well just try to forget that the Cubs even exist. No National League team should be considered the Sox' main rivals. Yoda
Those two violent sneezes might probably put Sammy in the DL for two weeks. Looks like every Flubbie player is being added to the DL. Who's next?
