I was debating this with a few people over the weekend & the consensus was that America would look better to the world if they used drugs & alcohol rather than torture. However other options surfaced so I listed them all.

The thing about drugs & alcohol is that they work much faster with injection than drinking. They have proven over the years to relax people to a state where they want to tell that which weighs heavy on their mind. There's no question that in an interogation sense that would be information that the US is seeking. In addition if you are able to create an addiction you have an effective form of control to get what you want & when you get it you can force the prisoner through withdrawal to end the addiction.

It's unlikely the doping process itself would be caught digitally so the worst media exposure would be the physical signs of being in that state. Still very much alive, probably looking happy. A far cry from what we've seen in the past month. You can always say you administered the drugs to ease the prisoners suffering.
