Things wont be good as long as Wirtz owns the team and has Pully as his lackie

Who really gives a crap. The Wolves are the only pro hockey team in Chicago these days so it doesn't matter who is coaching the Slackhawks. Still I was a very wee lad when the Hawks won the Stanley Cup. I would like to actually remember it.

That's Sputter's greatest weakness. He's great with the veterans, but, if this team is gonna go through a TRUE youth movement, we can't have Sputter at the helm. That's why I wish Yawney was brought up as coach here, or someone else who knows how to coach (Joel Quenneville, perhaps). The young guys will continue to not grow unless someone who can coach them will be there.
YASNY
The Hawks just finished their worst season since the schedule was expanded to 80 games and they re-up the head coach. Typical. So very typical. Bobby Hull is right. What the Wirtz-Pulford era has done to this once proud franchise is sad.
southsider2k5
I also noticed that the Hawks signed Bruce Cassidy to be an assistant coach.
SAVVY18
It is only a 1 year deal, so I think it is a bit of a safety blanket until the labor situation is decided. Why not keep Yawney down in Norfolk actually coaching this year instead of up with the big club sitting on his ass. If the season is played, give Sutter enough rope to hang himself and then bring Yawney in the mix. Too bad I know the Hawks aren't thinking this way.
