The Critic
I am for WHATEVER IT TAKES to save the Blackhawks from their outdated, overbearing, shortsighted dinosaur of an owner. Even if it means shutting hockey down for a season....WHATEVER it takes....

Even if it means shutting hockey down for a season....WHATEVER it takes.... Yeah. f*** "Dollar" Bill. If he didn't run the Blackhawks like a 60's hockey team in the 2000 decade then maybe fans would be attending every game like they did when I first starting following the Hawks in the 80's. I, and alot of other Hawk fans, are sick and tired of paying the highest ticket price for the "Big 4" of Chicago sports to watch guys like Belfour, Roenick, Amonte, Hasek, etc. get traded or let go to be replaced by "Dollar" Bill with a goddamn crackhead..... LITERALLY. :fyou Bill Wirtz!!!!!

BridgeportHeather
My hate for $ Bill is probably deeper than hsc's hate for KW. I just wish he'd be sent in a plane by himself over Iraq's "No fly zone!" We need a REAL owner there for my favorite sports franchise to be successful! YASNY
Any owner that cannot appreciate the value of television as a promotional tool has got to be totally archaic in his thinking. Someone mentioned the '60's.... The '40's is more appropriate. Sell, please sell.

Someone mentioned the '60's.... The '40's is more appropriate. Sell, please sell. true true TRUE!! If you "protect" your season reservationists ( as Billy Buck likes to call them ) by excluding the rest of your potential audience, you fail to attract any FUTURE season reservationists... Has it ever occured to Billy Buck WHY the Bulls continue to draw big crowds when they've sucked for 4 or 5 years straight, while the Hawks can't fill the building for anyone other than Detroit or St. Louis ( and then it's only because of people FROM Detroit or St. Louis )??? ANSWER: The Bulls were on television ALL THE TIME while they were good, so people got used to seeing them win, and enjoyed the experience. SO, they are more likely to stick with a team during the down period ( to an extent ), because they have fond memories. Watching the Blackhawks only on the road is bad in two respects: Teams usually lose more than they win on the road, and If you only watch games where the crowd is cheering against "your" team, I think it can plant a seed subliminally. Not for intelligent people, of course, but for the sheep-like peer-pressured follower type. I'll say it again - I think the "casual" sports fan is NOT generally an intelligent person, so they're more likely to be swayed by what's seen as popular...
