Steff
Horrible disease.. but, as proven by MJ Fox, controllable to the point of having a "decent" quality of life.

redandwhite
I remember acquiring Ben Petrick in all my baseball computer games years back when he was a top prospect with the Rockies. When I heard Caray announce this information on the game I was shocked. Thanks greasy...
Steff
I know Michael J Fox had it, but is parkinsons' the disease Muhammad Ali has? Yes, but he also has neurological damage which makes his case worse, IIRC.

witesoxfan
It's an ugly disease, but probably not the ugliest. I'd say ALS is. That's too bad. I remember he knocked the Twinks around a little last year with the Tigers. I wish him the best of luck in coping with the disease.

HuskyCaucasian
If I am not mistaken, arent they really starting to make some progress in research for this? Noo doubt that Michael J Fox has helped out the situation.

DonkeyKongerko
This is sad. I remember him being that top prospect and picking him in alot of fantasy drafts in older baseball games but he never seemed to get it all together. Best wishes to Ben. SuperSteve
I did like the guy. How many catchers could play centerfield? I saw him and his former Tigers teammate Inge do it. I wish him the best.
The Beast
Guys, I have a question. Sometimes I'll be sitting there in class just sitting still but my muscles are spasming and sometimes I am light headed when I get up from my seat and I see black for a few seconds...any people know if I may have parkinsons? 1549
Guys, I have a question. Sometimes I'll be sitting there in class just sitting still but my muscles are spasming and sometimes I am light headed when I get up from my seat and I see black for a few seconds...any people know if I may have parkinsons? Occasional muscle spasms are normal, unless they are severe. Light headedness could be any number of things. Getting up to fast often results in a number of things, from light headedness to falling back down. I would see a doctor if you feel this stuff is happening often. I doubt it is parkinsons though. I believe the early symptoms of parkinsons are weakness, dizziness, and poor coordination. Also studies have found people who get parkisons lacked the sense of smell. I agree with this study because my grandma could not smell for years, and was diagnosed with very minor parkisons a few years ago. Don't get paranoid about it. Trust me, fearing diseases is no way to live.
