danman31
Great news in Charlotte! The Knights won 10-9 in 10 innings over Pawtucket. Jeremy Reed went 3-6 with 2 HRs in the leadoff spot! Supposedly injured wrists take a lot of power away from a hitter so hopefully this is a sign that he has rounded the corner. Bryant Nelson also went 4-6 with a HR and 5 RBI. Mike Bell 3-5 with a HR. Rich Paz, Mario Valenzuela, and Kelly Dransfeldt also added 2 hits each. Paz is batting .327, is there any chance he could help out the Sox this season or in the future? Borchard 0-5 with a walk and a K. Tetsu Yofu made his Charlotte debut and sucked. Darensbourg and Santiago also got rocked. (He had 2 HRs) They have their starting outfield at Birm: Spidale, Bikowski and Murphy so they just needed a sub, that is what Martel does, Blakely can play full time and help out Win-Salem. Rex Hudler
Way to find a positive in an otherwise crappy outing. 8 hits in 6 innings is not ideal, but only 1 walk with 10 k's does not a crappy outing make. He allowed a 3-run HR which accounted for most of his runs. Not a stellar outing by any means, but certainly not crappy.

danman31
How's Baj project to the majors, stuff and control-wise? Could he take Koch's spot in an emergency situ or is he a year away? Well usually minor league relievers are not projected to the majors as you probably know so that doesn't bode well for him. I don't know much about his stuff other than the pitches that he throws (you should read the FutureSox interview with him if you haven't already). The concensus on here in many discussions has been that Baj needs some time in AAA before even being considered for a callup.
