marsh
jeez, can't we wait until at least noon to start these? i'm tired of these starting so early. l l l l l l l l l l l l J j/k Go Sox!
aboz56
Cotts is capible of shuting the Twins down. At least the current Twins lineup, he's capable of shutting them down. I feel a lot better with Mientkiewicz and Stewart not playing. (At least I hope Doug isn't back tonight.)

EvilJester99
I think Cotts will be just fine... I think he will make it atleast 5 innings. If the offense contiues to shine, I don't think there is anything to worry about. Radke will be tough though.

whitesoxin'
Another bad thing about Doug playing is that means Offerman won't be playing.

aboz56
Another bad thing about Doug playing is that means Offerman won't be playing. And also that Doug has a GLOVE at first base. He's one of, if not the best, defensive first basemen in the league.
whitesoxin'
He may DH or play 2nd. I doubt it after his awful fielding in the first two games of the series. Either he or Mornuea sits. They both helped us out the last two nights.

They both helped us out the last two nights. They didn't call up Morneau to sit on the pine. He'll DH I'd say. Look at the way he was pounding the ball at AAA, you just don't call a guy up who is hitting like that if you don't plan to use him everyday. whitesoxin'
Nope, Cuddyer did. Ok sorry. I always mess up the guys like that; Morneau, Cuddyer, Mienctzitckz, Piersinyski (when he was here) and Kielty/Mohr who are both gone now.
cwsox
this game thread was not started early enough (like 36 hours pr more) to be any good what is the winning % of the game thread starter in starting game threads? I am very concerned about all of this.
southsider2k5
Lets go Neal. We HAVE to have SOMEONE break this fifth starter curse!
1549
Lets go Neal. We HAVE to have SOMEONE break this fifth starter curse! You're not kidding there. I noticed Baldwin cleared waivers. If Cotts struggles I wouldn't be surprised to see us get Baldwin. It could be like our Ken Hill experiment.

If the offense contiues to shine, I don't think there is anything to worry about. Radke will be tough though. Cotts will not go 5 innings tonight - - He has yet to have an outing longer than 2.1 innings this year - He has only gone 2 or more innings 3 times this season - He has never thrown more than 30 pitches in an outing It's also likely that we'll need the lead when Neal leaves the game. Adkins has a little more experience going longer this season. However, he has not quite had the tremendous results that Neal has. And with the scrappy bunch of guys Minnesota has, I expect them to pull a couple runs out of the "pen".

I think he will be limited to around 50/60 pitches.

Glad to see the game thread start early, I imagine everyone is pretty pumped. GO SOX! Tonights game is certainly the one that we have the highest chance of losing. Hopefully Cotts can get us 3-4 solid innings of work & the pen can take it from there. If I wa a betting man I'd say Adkins is coming in in long relief.
