upnorthsox
Cotts will not go 5 innings tonight - - He has yet to have an outing longer than 2.1 innings this year - He has only gone 2 or more innings 3 times this season - He has never thrown more than 30 pitches in an outing It's also likely that we'll need the lead when Neal leaves the game. Adkins has a little more experience going longer this season. However, he has not quite had the tremendous results that Neal has. And with the scrappy bunch of guys Minnesota has, I expect them to pull a couple runs out of the "pen". He started almost all of ST and has always been a starter til this season, while going a 100 pitches is out of the question he can and should be able to go 4-5 innings quite easily. Again, Roa went 5 IP last night for the Twinks which was his longest appearance since Apr 15th, 2003 and his longest stint this yr was 2.1 IP. hi8is
i think that, knowing the twins are looking at cotts short outting situation, they are gonna be instructed to make each at bat as drawn out as possible just to get cottsy to that 50-60 limit... so if i was coop or the oz, id tell cotts to be very aggressive and throw a ton of strikes. no f***in around neal! YASNY
It is much more important that Cotts comes out of tonight's game healthy than it is for him to pitch 5 or 6 innings. Cooper needs to keep a very close eye on Cotts and Ozzie needs to listen to Coop if he says it's time to pull him.

Yoda
Our offense has to shine in the first three innings just like the past few days. We look at last night and Silva didn’t go far at all. The same can happen to Minnesota’s starter for tonight.

SoxPhan7
Did anyone hear Don Cooper on the radio today? He said they are treating Cotts as if this is a relief appearance. He said no more than 2-4 innings for neal. Does anyone get this?

If he's pitchin good and feeling alright, they let him go as long as he can.
