BrandoFan
I want Beltran in a White Sox uniform. And I want Bonds. And Calfzilla. And Jenny Finch.
BrandoFan
You dont like Beltran, we get it. No, "you" don't get it. You couldn't be more wrong with respect to me not "liking" Beltran. No need to preach the elemental supply and demand crap, this isn't Ben Graham Interactive.com I've listed reasons why Beltran is not the next coming of Bonds in another thread way back when he was absolutely unstoppable. He is not worth 17 Mill a yearm abd he sure as hell isn't worth 8/140. Not even close. Now he is playing more to his abilities and I am simply pointing it out. But you dont have to just disrespect a player to try and boost your own ego Now that's just pure and unadulterated nonsense. :headshake
JoshPR
Screw this thread, Beltran is better than any player we have. Make your arguments about Magglio all you want but the fact of the matter is Beltran is a better all around player. I want Beltran in a White Sox uniform. I'm Dumbfounded as much as many here :banghead :headshake
Soxbadger
Beltran being the next coming of Bonds and getting paid $17mil a year are 2 different things. If he was the next coming of Bonds, wed be arguing over $20mil a year contracts, as it is, there has been some what of a chill in players contracts, but that trend can not continue indefinitely, and theres as good of a possibility of some one breaking the bank on Beltran, as there is that he makes less than $13mil. And every time you say that hes coming back down to earth, and he doesnt project to have an ops of this, or that his stolen bases will go down, you are devaluing Beltran, and in a way disrespecting him. Or what bothered me most was when you said that Beltran was benefitting form playing in front of the great KC line-up, it might not of been in this thread, but it was bogus. greg775
You are right. He's a future Yankee or BoSox. Case closed. He's a damn good player, but he has nothin to do with our Sox.

Yeah....especially when I said Beltran is "the best CF in the game", I was disrespecting him big-time. Poor Carlos..... :headshake Hey, I am also given to occasionally "disrespecting" Colon, Ponson, Castillo, Cabrera, Renteria, Millwoood, Konerko, Koch, Lee, Alou, Ordonez, Rollins, Guzman, Clayton, Clement, Marte, Green, Mondesi, Jeter, Wright, Borchard to name a few.....Aren't I wicked! Chisoxrd5
:headshake I like Beltran...he will never be in a Sox uniform but I do like him... Anyways Brando is this one of those start a topic to start a neverending argument thread?
aboz56
Because Beltran was frequently mentioned in connecton with the Sox and he plays in the same division. This isn't WSI, so I figured there was no need to be rigid and compulsively pedantic when starting a thread. There are 10 other threads discussing the Minnesota thumping. A semi-off-topic thread or two are not gonna create chaos. No ill will Brando, as you were my friend...

southsideirish
He is not in the same class as Torii Hunter...In fact, it's not even close...Spiderman dwarfs the fielding abilities of Beltran, Andruw Jones is better than him in CF as well. Too bad neither of these players hit like Beltran. If Andruw Jones is better then it is not by much.
hammerhead johnson
If Andruw Jones is better then it is not by much. Ha! That explains why some people refer to Jones as the greatest defensive center fielder of all time! Or why Bonds, asshole that he usually is, went out of his way to call Andruw Jones the best defensive center fielder that he has ever seen! I know that the guy is a sick, perverted SOB, as he took part in group sex in front of a bunch of old men? :puke But still, his defense is absolutely superb. Best in the history of baseball type superb. And I'm not trying to sound like Hawk Harrelson or Bill Walton with the "Greatest Ever" talk, but this is the truth. Engaging in group sex in front of a bunch of old men? The guy is braindead. But he can play some mean defense. That's for sure.
