Yoda
Can’t wait to see Harris back. He’s been missing a lot of action while on the bench but he’ll be part of that action in just a short time. Pitching matchup CHI: LHP Scott Schoeneweis 4-1, 3.33 ERA in 2004 0-0, 4.76 vs. TEX in 2003 2-6, 5.90 lifetime vs. TEX TEX: LHP Kenny Rogers 6-2, 3.38 ERA in 2004 1-0, 2.84 vs. CHI in 2003 11-7, 4.73 lifetime vs. CHI

Yea, I wouldn't be surprised if Uribe gets another start...But that's nothing to fret, because Uribe's been downright stellar for us and deserves tons of playing time himself. I could see a sweep here if our bats continue being as hot as they were this past weekend with the exception of Saturday...But, it seems as if the offense and pitching come together at the same time, so if Schoey guts it out, we'll be off to a good start. And let's go Tampa as well!!!!!

I gotta imagine that Uribe and Rowand are gimmies in the SLU. With a LHP on the mound those two guys are automatic. It all depends on either Valentin or Harris for the last spot if you ask me. southsider2k5
After watching Jose chase balls 5 feet outside, I wish it was Harris. And I wouldn't argue with you either. After seeing tonights game, if Jose is going to play against a lefty, it can't be a guy who features off speed stuff.
Chisoxfn
I said it should be Harris. 15 at bats and people are ready to label him a right handed specialist (don't really know if thats a word). For cripes sake Jose is awful against anyone that has a decent breaking pitch and is smart enough to throw it every pitch (every once in a while busting Jose in with a fastball). For cripes sakes, I could go up their, snap off 3 of my mediocre curves in the dirt and get him out.

After seeing tonights game, if Jose is going to play against a lefty, it can't be a guy who features off speed stuff. Its not offspeed stuff, its a breaking ball. His entire career Jose hasnt' been able to handle offspeed pitches. I have never to this day figured out why anyone has ever given him fastballs to hit. The only time he hits a breaking pitch (specifically the curve) is if a batter hangs it up. If you make a decent curve, whether your a righty or a lefty, he will be an easy out. After seeing tonights game, if Jose is going to play against a lefty, it can't be a guy who features off speed stuff. He had no business hitting in the eighth either. I wanted to see MO, but I guess Ozzie wanted to save him as a catcher. Either way, any of the lefties off the bench would have been a better option. He earned the golden sombrero (sp?) tonight. He looked awful doing it too...
Palehosefan
Can you imagine the records Jose would set if he played an entire season now? :puke Bobby Bonds K record would be in serious jeopardy. So would Keith Olberman's mom if she was ever in attendance here.

Palehosefan
lol you don't remember a few years ago when Chuck Knoblauch was having his fun throwing problems? He threw a ball from second base that went into the stand and smacked Keith Olberman's mom in the head.
Gene Honda Civic
What? Chuck knoblach(sp?) beaned kieth olberman's mother in the head while she was sitting in the stands while trying to throw to first from second.
BobDylan
Chuck knoblach(sp?) beaned kieth olberman's mother in the head while she was sitting in the stands while trying to throw to first from second. Yea I remember that, but what does it have to do with Jose Valentin striking out a lot? The premise of the post was that Bobby Bonds K record would be in trouble if Jose played everyday...then he threw in that Keith's mom would be as well. I don't get it... Gene Honda Civic
I believe he was referring to Jose difficulties in the field also.

BobDylan
Whats so hard to get about that? It was odd placement. It seemed you were still talking of his hitting woes while making a reference to his shoddy defense.
Palehosefan
I dunno, now you have me confused. I don't know how this is odd "Bobby Bonds K record would be in serious jeopardy. So would Keith Olberman's mom if she was ever in attendance here." I'm saying they would both be in serious jeopardy, anyways moving along.
