Old Socks
Has he ever pitched two consecutive innings without a run. He got through the 8th and then was horses*** in the 9th. Happens every time with him.

He has gone five straight outings this year without giving up a run.
Chisoxfn
I'd say when the Sox call up their next starter, it may be Politte that gets sent down (if he clears and I don't see why anyone would pick him up).
qwerty
I just say cut his ass it's pretty pathetic that everytime out he walks someone, well at least it seems like that.
Chisoxfn
I just know as of late it seems like every outing he is giving up runs.
JDsDirtySox
I'd say give Kelly W. the boot before Cliff. Kelly has failed in his last two outings to get out the ONE Left Handed Batter he was brought in to get out. A. Justin Morneau of the Twins singled. B. Hank Blalock of the Rangers walked. along with getting slapped around by the hitters that followed them as well. Kelly W. doesn't get the job done. Cotts can handle that role. Not a chance. It will be interesting to see what they do to get Rauch here if that's who they go with. I'd guess it would be Adkins going down. You're going to be right JD -- Neal is headed back to the pen. -- Rauch worked out of the BP today in Charlotte, and should be called up to pitch on Saturday. -- Wunch has said himself that he was getting hitters out with junk. Junk doesn't really cut it at the major league level.

He's not Billy Koch bad, Ozzie depends on him alot as well. I see Cheat has posted Wunsch might go, that's not a bad suggestion either. Well Rauch pitched out of the pen today, which may or may not of been to get him in line for the 5th spot. However, that wouldn't make sense, but thats what they did with Diaz too for whatever reason. I guess its to give him a little work until Saturday, but I'd of let him do his usual and then come up on his normal turn on Saturday. Then again, maybe it isn't Rauch. He's not billy koch bad really.Billy koch 4.67 era Politte 6.14 and koch is getting his job done 7-8 in saves.
BobDylan
Has he ever pitched two consecutive innings without a run. He got through the 8th and then was horses*** in the 9th. Happens every time with him. We learned early in the season that you can't stretch Cliff out past one inning. Ozzie should have known better throwing him out there for the ninth. The fact of the matter is that Cliff needs to throw that damn slider for a strike. Once and if he does, he'll be a damn good pitcher. Happens every time with him. I dont think anybody was paying any attention to Politte tonight. Everybody there was scanning the RF Bleachers looking for the next brawl to start. I looked away for a few minutes & when i looked at the game again we had given up another run.
witesoxfan
Why would you not think politte if he is pitching that s***ty why keep him up on the big leauge team to hurt them??? Because he has a guaranteed contract of $1 mill. That's why. We're not the Red Sox or Yankees where we can afford to option a pitcher who is making millions of dollars to the minors. We just can't. Palehosefan
I think Cliff would be fine if he was used properly. Put him in for 2/3 to 1 inning at most, don't give him time to get wild.
YASNY
Wunsch makes $800K and Politte $1M. I don't think the money will be a factor, as they still have to pay both of them. With Cotts back in the pen, I believe Kelly will be sent down.

Politte will stick around because he throws heat from the right side [at least until he can no longer get people out] A possible replacement--Bajenaru [both are similar type pitchers]
