Soxfest
Starts play Uribe at short, JV is automatic out against any LH with marginal stuff.
qwerty
It seems like that is the only way it can be unless if valentine really has someones number like something crazy 15-20 imo.
NUKE_CLEVELAND
I've never seen a pitcher so thoroughly own a batter the way Kenny Rogers did to Valentin tonight. He struck out Valentin 3 f***ing times on that same f***ing curve ball & made him look stupid every time. Rogers was toying with that poor jackass. I've been against trading Jose for the fact that he's the only left handed power in this sox lineup. But is it time to try and find a taker for Jose and let Juan and Willie play up the middle and dare I say call Borchard up and play cf. I'm not sure if that's the best solution but it might be something to think about.

BrandoFan
It was a matter of time before the wolves came out "oooooing" out da ol' woodwork. One bad game to be precise. It doesn't matter that Jose smoked the ball off Santana and Romero, both tough lefties, just 2 days ago.....It doesn't matter that Willie Harris is much worse against them, in general and that progress Jose showed against lefties in Spring Training was enough to convince Ozzie that he could be tolerable against them.......Which he was, btw, with 300+ OBP coming into tonight's game. Valentin haters amuse me. I can't wait for him to have 2 straight bad games....All hell will break loose.

I think it might just be time to let Willie and Uribe play the middle infield, to say the least that dp combo is exciting and I still absolutely love when those two are at the top of the order. NUKE_CLEVELAND
Valentin haters amuse me. I can't wait for him to have 2 straight bad games....All hell will break loose. Dude, he had about 4 bad games all rolled into 1 night. Kenny Rogers made Valentin his b**** worse than I've ever seen a pitcher do to a hitter in one game. Burhle doesn't even own Jauqe Jones that badly. At least MB had to use a different pitch to strike him out 3 times.
BobDylan
I want to see him dealt. I really do. Get a decent RH option out of the pen for him, and let the ship sink or sail with Harris and Uribe.
BobDylan
It doesn't matter that Jose smoked the ball off Santana and Romero, both tough lefties, just 2 days ago. Santana has not been a good lefty this year. (So far)
BrandoFan
Dude, he had about 4 bad games all rolled into 1 night. That's just stupid. 0 for 4 is 0 for 4 is 0 for 4 - unless you think that a strike-out is somehow worse than a pop-up or a DP ball..... Rowand44
Santana has not been a good lefty this year. (So far) Either has Romero. I definitely agree with you though on Juan and Willie let those two play, they're both awesome to watch, good defenders and damn good hitters, plus the fact they both seem to be spark plugs for this team. BrandoFan
Santana has not been a good lefty this year. (So far) Yeah, especially against lefties who've never faced him before from that side.....
BobDylan
Yeah, especially against lefties who've never faced him before from that side..... That's a weak argument and you know it. A rookie that's never seen a major league pitch was liable to hammer Santana that day. Jose knows what Santana has, knows the timing, he's just on the other side of the plate. You can do better Brando.

Valentin had his contacts in backwards or something tonight & never should have ben allowed to bat in that situation. We needed baserunners & runs & they let f***ing Valentin bat again & what happens? He went down swinging again on another curve ball. He couldn't lay off that pitch all night & all they had to do was throw him another one to kill off any Sox Rally.
qwerty
To me it's not that he strike out it's how he struck out he was swinging at pitches 2 feet off the plate, and that's not exaggerating.

witesoxfan
He was bad tonight. He looked ugly against LHP. He's ALWAYS looked bad against LHP, no matter what the pitcher throws. But let's all completely forget about his 1.000 OPS against RHP(which, BTW, is leading the team...in fact, he's the only player on the team with an OPS of 1.000 against RHP...Thomas is second with .991). He looked like s***. Who would you rather have out there, Willie Harris and his .192 OPS against LHP?
