witesoxfan
Here's a question: What are we all really upset with Reinsdorf for? What, Specifically, has he done to make you not show up to the park? What could he do that would make you go to the park? Why do you let an owner determine which team you support, and when? I would guess it is a number of things that people just remember and will never forget. They hold a grudge. Getting to the point, those things are... 1) Supporting the strike in 94 with the Sox in first 2) The White Flag trade of 97 with the team 3 games out I would say those are the main two, with other contributing factors being "I would trade all 6 NBA Rings for 1 World Series ring" and then him not following through with that promise, and him not spending the $70-80 mill that we want. What I say to those people is get the hell over it. It's over and done with.
marsh
Mark Cuban? Time again to recall what Sam Smith had to say about him last December and why I hope Cuban never comes near the Sox (besides the fact that I think he'd move them) Sam Smith Chicago Tribune 12-29-03 Sports section, page 2 Dallas soap opera: We know how players get a coach fired. They just curtail their effort. But how do players get an owner fired? It turns out padded slippers and fluffy towels aren't enough to overcome Mark Cuban's insincerity, disingenuousness, hypocrisy and pretension. Anyone get the picture here? The Mavs players surely have. They are 17-12, which would be cause for celebration with the Bulls. But the Mavs were 25-4 at this time last year. And they're 4- 10 on the road, the only top Western team with a losing road record. There has been talk of Dirk Nowitzki's bothersome ankles and Michael Finley's injuries and slump. But insiders and players say the same spirit and drive are gone, emptied by the double dealing and personal aggrandizement of owner Cuban. It's one reason why All- Star guard Steve Nash talked of going to Toronto when he becomes a free agent. Players are confused about the constant personnel changes, like the deals for Antoine Walker and Antawn Jamison that have left only five players from last season's conference finals team. Even now, Cuban is talking about taking on troublesome Rasheed Wallace. Promises to popular veterans like Tim Hardaway and Nick Van Exel were broken. Players were upset with Cuban's obsessive courtship of Pat Riley last season that held up coach Don Nelson's extension. Now, insiders say, Cuban will dump Nelson the minute Riley says he'll come aboard. To no one's surprise, Cuban is blaming Nelson and his staff for the struggles this season. "The issue isn't so much with our players as it is with our coaching staff just drilling them and drilling them and drilling them to death," Cuban said last week. "In terms of personnel, I wouldn't change it for anything." Until he does. Dallas has now become one of the most unfriendly places in the NBA for players i'll believe it when i see players leave the team via free agency. i don't suppose the reason nash would want to play in toronto is because he is canadian. yeah it's the owners fault the team isn't playing well. it's not even worth talking about because i have a better chance of winning the power ball twice before mark cuban becomes owner of the sox. but even with sam smith's article i would take cuban every day of the week and twice on sunday over reinsdorf. no question. Soxbadger
The Cuban buying the Sox would be a really good one, but only some of us would get the real joke, maybe send him an email to watch the game a certain night, and if a few people brought the sign it might get on. Soxbadger
I didnt think it would get him to buy the team. I just think it would be funny and he might get a laugh out of it. Kind of like a sign of respect and that we the fans care when an owner actually listens. SB

aboz56
You hear what they're saying.... That Mark Cuban is the best owner in all of pro sports... That the Minnesota Twins will once again win the AL Central... And that the Cubs, when healthy have the best pitching staff in all of baseball.... Well, I Alex say Wrong, Wrong, Wrong... You didn't think I'd let that get by without saying I think the Sox will win the AL Central did ya? if any of you watch I, Max, you'll get my little dialogue here. Steff
Hello All, Haven't been here for awhile. Do you think security at the gate would even allow any anti-JR signs in? They don't care. Here's an example from a couple summers ago.
Controlled Chaos
I don't understand all the bashing. I guess it's just the "in" thing to do. I mean he is blamed for everything....from stud Free Agents not working out to the architecture of the park. I say cut the guy some slack. He want's to win as bad as any of us and to say he doesn't is just a crock. Yeah I wish he would spend more but it IS a business. Instead of all the Reinsdorf bashing I say we have a "Fill the Park Day" If you care about the team come to the game. Show the team all the fans it really has and that we enjoy all the improvements that were made FOR THE FANS. Let's pick like a weekend game and load the place up. Bring signs THAT day. Maybe if Reinsdorf sees the park filled and realizes all the fans that would come if he keeps the team competitve then he'll stretch the budget a little more. I think a FILL THE PARK day would really catch on and maybe a lot of people would come just to be a part of it. After being there they might realize which park is the best in this town. With all the Sox websites as well as the radio guys and tv guys...I bet we could spread the word and get something done. I know there's a lot more fans out there that care about this team...
