IlliniKrush
Did anyone else try to order Cubs tickets today? I tried getting some for the Sox and Yankees series, and wow, talk about problems. The server was just jammed...errors everywhere. Now the games are sold out. So after 3 hours, i ended up with only 2 tickets to the cubs/sox friday game. Wow. I had friends online doing the same thing, some ended up with no tickets. What a joke this was. Very frustrating to say the least.

I got screwed this past year trying to pick up tickets to the World Series. The server goofed, order too many tickets for me and when I tried to lower the number the server crashed and I wasn't able to get any. At least you got them to one game. HawkDJ
I went last year to the Cubs/Sox game at Wrigley where Caballo had those 2 big home runs. It was great. I've got tickets again this year at Wrigley.

Sorry, HSC, we'll have to respectfully disagree on this one. Say what you want about the Cubs ( no, really - say whatever you want about the Cubs ), but Wrigley is an excellent ballpark. I love old ballparks, and Wrigley gives me the same feeling that Real Comiskey did ( do we have to refer to old Comiskey as "Old US Cellular Field" now?? ). Sorry if that sounds like sacrilege, but I really like Wrigley Field. Could do without the trough for a urinal, though - that's a little too geigh for me... Especially when it comes to giving up my hard earned money over to the sCrUBS Organization. I don't think I'd pay for tix to the Sox/Cubs series at Wrigley for the simple reason that my hard earned cash would be going to baseball's Mickey Mouse Organization. ShamME too. :fyou The Cubs :fyou ShamME Soso :fyou Stupid Ass Cub Fans :fyou Dusty Baker..... it's gonna be a LONG 2003 for you

cwsox
attendance had bad luck in 2000 - I still remember the Memorial Day weekend series with Cleeveland which should have drawn big crowds drawing only the usual because the weather was so horrid - that Saturday it poured all day and stopped at game time but by then people had decided not to go, Sunday was very cold and windy - and it wasn't until June 2000 anyway that people realized the team was for real and not a mirage, not something that was a one month fluke - we had a lot of great crowds after that until September when it dropped like a rock again because I think people didn't expect to have meaningful ball games in September and made other plans - especially for Labor Day wekend - people haven't got it in their heads, Labor Day at the Cell, although they should - attendance is a habit and people have to get that habit for the payoff. And attendance can lag a year - look at the attendance we had in 84 - and look at what 94 was heading to be until the lock out - that would have been a great year attendance wise because it was the year afetr a playoff team and a very eal contender - I think it took until 2000 for a lot of anger to dissipate out of that. I expect attendance up a bit this season becuase of expectations but I wouldn't look for it to skyrocket at all with 3 wekeends with the Tigers but if we do as we ought, it should be a very solid attendance year, and if we come through, next year will be a great attendance year. Which only makes the liens longer at hge concessions, johns, and parking. 22,000 to 25,000 is perfect for short lines - but I do love to see the place filled until it happens for a few games and then i wish everyone would go away so I could have short liens again And I have to fight the urge to scream, "where have you been" to people when the place gets packed - the casual fan and the so-called loyal fan who never comes until the big games, they do get on my nerves. I think no one should be allowed to purchase post season tickets unless they actually attended at least 4 games againt Detroit and 2 each against KC and Tampa Bay. Real fans show up other than cubs games, opening day, yankees, and playoffs.

The schedule makers didn't do the White Sox any favors for weekend series at USCF this year. Besides the weekend with the sCrUBS, our other interleague weekend opponent is SD. Big draw there. Not to mention weekend series with Tampa (1) and Texas (1). The remaining weekend series at USCF this year are against Detroit (3), Cleveland (2), Minnesota (1), Seattle (1), Oakland (1), and KC (1). The WS Champs come to USCF during the weekday along with the typical big draws of NY and Boston. Not to mention the NL Champion San Francisco Giants are during the weekday also. Most of your typically big draws are going to be hampered by the fact that they fall on the weekdays. Hopefully, Mondays and Tuesdays (half-price nights) and, quite possibly, a winning team will bring out the fans at least 2 weeknights every weekday homestand. IlliniKrush
Real fans show up on days other than monday's and tuesday's (half price night). Hell i went to a friday game in May against the tigers by myself when it was like 40, and no one was there. More people need to show up for these other games.
