Chisoxfn
Not a problem. Maybe we can make some threads during each of the regionals for some of the players to watch or something and when people see a guy they can add their imputs or what not, since not all of us are home at different times. Just throwing it out there. I'll say this, Landon Powell looked good at the plate. Showed patience and I saw him make a pretty good throw from his knees behind the plate. A good way for some people who don't really watch college baseball to gather info on some possible draftees.
WHarris1
So if I understand this right... Why is the CWS and regionals, etc. after the draft?
Chisoxfn
So if I understand this right... Why is the CWS and regionals, etc. after the draft? Its because you can't start the college baseball season too early due to the fact that the weather isn't there in other places. I guess MLB could push back the draft, but then your also limiting the short season leagues and most of the players in short season come from that seasons draft. The one fun part is, you can sometimes watch a few players that were just drafted. The big risk is players in the college world series (well pitchers) sometimes get overworked because they are playing for it all.

Alright, I am now done asking you stupid questions that I should know the answer too. Thanks.
Rex Hudler
Sowers did not pitch in that championship game yesterday... It was a great game with a decent crowd, however. It was hot as hell too....... I also like Powell, having seen him play 4 years in a row. South Carolina has a couple of pitchers that are highly regarded too, but I cannot recall their names off the top of my head. Chisoxfn
Ya, the announcers kept saying Sowers name and then I turned and watched a few pitches and was like thats not Sowers. I can't wait to get to the Hoover. Going to be there for a game in July rex

You said his curve is compared to Barry Zito's, and that just jumps out at me. What team did you say he played for, again? Im hoping I get a chance to see this kid play on TV, as for some reason, my cable has given me all of these College Baseball channels, which rocks! I think I'm like WHarris. I don't really follow college baseball too much, but I'm interested in potential Sox prospects/draftees.

University of Texas which year in and year out is one of the top few baseball programs in the country. They lost two games in the recent big 12 tourney, but I think they still are overall #1 in the country.
