Right now I'm mixed on the issue. I think George will do an excellent job if we go into battle and a lot of me wants us to, but I also tend to think about things a lot and I know we are already hated in the middle east and I think we need to start doing things to make the US not say hated over there.

The inspection thing is a little game they're playing, I think. One day they say the inspectors can come in, then th next day there are stipulations. Repeat and repeat again until it's nauseating.

 

I'm not as worried about the actual battle with Iraq as I am about the domino effect it could have. We'd definitely lose trust and relations with more than a few Arab nations, and this type of military action will serve to inspire and mobilize the same type of nutjobs who attacked us before.

 

There's a lot to consider, but something's got to be done. I just think we should try to stabilize our f***ed-up economy before we throw millions more $$$ into battles that could possibly wait.

mm is that true? we deserved it???... let me tell you what they deserve.. they deserve to have us go in there when they were bullying around kuwait and they deserved to have us clean out the litter box over there....they deserve us to blow them to kingdom come... have you ever spent time over there? do you know even what they are fighting about amoungst eachother and everyone else who doesnt think like they do? if not then i suggest you pick up a gun and get some cammies on and go spend your summer vacation in the hot sand box and see for yourself in person what they deserve... when they spit in your face and have little kids tape hand gernades to their bodies and lay under your jeep to blow you up, when you come home from a hard days work on the front lines only to find your home blown up and half your friends wounded or dead then tell me how much we deserved.....if it were up to me all those f***ers would be leveled and that sandbox would be new ocean front property which i would send all the liberal f***ing pantiwastes to for new residency, so i dont have to sit here defending my country and listen to them belly ache on how barbaric we are.... un f***in real.. you actually think we deserved sept 11??? omg i cant believe it........

Regardless of how messed up their motives may have been... THEY HAD MOTIVES! This is the issue that needs to be addressed.

 

Terrorism is like a tree. You just can't cut off the leaves of a tree and expect it to die. You need to get down into the roots and cut off what's feeding it, and THEN and ONLY THEN will you kill the tree.

 

My point is, and always HAS BEEN, that this attitude of, "f*** the arabs," is what leads to the kind of inexcusable and tragic garbage we saw on the 11th. You really need to be messed up to think that something like that could be justified. That approach obviously isn't working, so maybe its about time we started looking for different solutions?

This is a tradegy, no doubt. Innocent people died, but the number of innocents who died as a result of Tuesday's attack is small compared to the people who have died in and outside of our country because we like leading lives of excess...

 

Face it. We use the third world for our own gain. If you don't think that's the case, go to El Salvador, Guatemala or any other Latin American country that has HUGE sweatshops for American enterprises. We oppress the third world.

 

We back Israel. Guess what? All those people who used to live there had to leave because the United Nations (lead by the U.S. of A.) came in and said, "Yeah, you've been here for about 2,000 years, but you gotta go." You know, we're lied to everyday about the Palestinians. Like it or not, they are made out to be the "bad" guys and we're the knights in shining armor, defending justice (though we took away land from thousands of Palestinians) and freedom (though we keep the third world poor because it doesn't help the bottom line). To say we deserved this, I definately do not agree with, but to think we're the innocent victims of a terrible attack is wrong as well.

 

People don't hijack a plane and fly it into a building for no good reason! Face it. They had a reason to do this...

We have to find out WHY they did it. If it was Arabs (and I'm sure it was. This IS NOT RACIST, but who else has more reasons to hate the U.S.A. more than the Arabians. We stole their land. We steal their oil. We bomb them every now and then...), we've got to understand why someone would hate us enough to pull this off.

Maybe I just haven't been brainwashed into thinkiing the U.S.A. is always right, but compared to what we've done to the Arabian states, we should have known (and probably did) that this was coming, but to say that this is unrprovoked is wrong and to say that we should retaliate is wrong.

 

I feel deeply sorry for the people killed, injured, and all the families and friends who will feel the ripples of this, but I don't feel bad because it happened to America. I would feel just as bad if this happened in France or England. People are people. I feel bad every day for the NUMBERS of people all around the world who starve to death because they have NOTHING, while everyday, when I walk to school, I can't throw a rock without hitting a gas guzzling SUV.

 

Is it any wonder they hit A) The Pentagon - the boys with toys and B) The World Trade Center - the most blatantly obvious sign of American excess?

 

As long as we continue to live our lives the way we do in America, this sort of thing will happen. To place the blame solely on whoever did it and not blame ourselves for provoking such an attack is utterly superficial.

 

And to call it a "cowardly attack" I also think is wrong. Hey, they are in an anti-American crusade. They took their lives because they did what they feel is right. Does that make it right? Hell no. But if we think for onew second we can look at ourselves as a nation and feel that we are the innocent victims of a terrorist assault is extremely arrogant. They didn't do this just because they had nothing better to do. All I know is what I've heard from news reports. The media says that if they have any type of nuclear or biological device, it is most likely "small grade" and the only real threat would be to Israel, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt and Iraq itself. The nuclear or biological fall out most likely wouldn't effect the US one bit. The question then becomes, how will Israel and the affected neighboring Arab nations decide to handle a fall out situation and who will they blame? Backwards f***ing Arabs will probably blame us. At least we know where Israel will stand but will Israel retaliate if provoked by a Saddam SCUD attack against US wishes? This is what the US needs to determine. Time to teach the Arab nations a lesson :mad:

when i made my post, its from what i thought i heard on msnbc. i been trying to pick up on it and i may be wrong with what has been said.

 

iraq has to bring in irseali into this early. it is their only chance to turn the arabs against us. the US has too much power, but we will respect there ideas. the irseali will kick major butt over there, if we don't keep them under control.
