Guest wsc425
For a guy who can throw as nasty as Nunez, he will not be cut. Batters cannot pickup the left handed sidearmed curveball. Reasons for him being on team 1.) Team Representative 2.) Lefty in Bullpen 3.) Promising to organization.
Rex Hudler
Wunsch had one good year. He is nothing but an average pitcher and won't end the season in the Sox bullpen unless they have a ton of injuries.
Mr. Showtime
Reasons for him being on team 1.) Team Representative The last like 4 team reps have been traded or released. I know Liefer was before, either Lofton or Durham was, Singleton was in there to. It's the kiss of death.
Soxfest
Wunsch can go now , we have alot better than him,I think Wunsch thinks he is a premier LH in MLB, he sure as hell is not

Chisoxfn
Well, Wunsch will not be cut. A lefty thats had sucess out of the pen has some definate trade value, possibly for a quality backup catcher. Also, the Sox aren't going to do anything until they know that Munoz and Sanders can produce or at least see them produce in spring training. Man, I can't wait till I get in the car and drive over to Arizona

witesoxfan
One reason he could be released.... He makes $500,000 a year....that is less than many guys(but not Buehrle - :fyou KW) He won't be released....at the very least, he'll be traded for a need(a backup catcher probably)....he won't be with us much longer...with Sanders, Munoz, Malone, Stewart, Bullard, Ring etc...all capable of pitching in the bullpen in the big league out of the bullpen, we really don't have a big need for Wunsch or even for that matter Marte....though I'd rather keep Marte. Most of those guys are starters or are being converted into a starter(Munoz, Malone, Stewart, Bullard, Ring are all starters or being converted into starters). If he does well for us this year, great for us....if not, oh well. I don't envision him being with us for that much longer.
WhiteSoxPride3035
Wunsch can pick off lefties like none other. He is a great person to have in your pen when you are up against a tough lefty. As long as he is in the White Sox bullpen, he is welcome by me.
toasty
For all of you bashing wunsch cuz he goes one or two batters, THAT IS WHAT HE IS THERE FOR. he is a specialty lefty reliever not a long reliever!
Guest wsc425
He's not going anywhere. #1.) Kenny Williams wouldn't have re-signed him. #2.) He's a lefty sidearm specialist. #3.) He wouldn't have been invited to SoxFest. #4.) He isn't known by anyone in the MLB.

We know what we have in Kelly and the Sox are now going to decide if they have better. If so, then they can easily move him for a quality player in return. I'm thinking catcher. Almost every team in baseball could use a good lefty reliever, especially one who makes next to nothing.
baggio202
For all of you bashing wunsch cuz he goes one or two batters, THAT IS WHAT HE IS THERE FOR. he is a specialty lefty reliever not a long reliever! nobody is bashing wunch..he's a great guy... i wish nothing but the best for him...but if arnaldo munoz outpitches him in ST he will knock kelly off the roster... kelly then will either have to agree to go to charlotte or be cut loose or traded...kelly even acknowledged as much in an article earlier this year with only carrying 11 pitchers it really makes it a liability to have a lefty specialist....if munoz can get lefties out as good as wunch could plus have the ability to get out righties better than kelly and pitch 2 or 3 innings when needed..he gets the job...its that simple...when jerry said the sox were only gonna carry 11 pitchers kelly's job became in serious jeapordy...he really has to pitch his ass off this spring and prove he can go for more than just 2 or 3 batters tops...we can not afford "the lefty specialist kelly" on an 11 man staff..the other 10 guys then have to pick up the slack and that leads to overworking the bullpen...kelly has to expand his game let me ask you this...if it came down to carrying kelly as the 12 pitcher and eliminating a position players spot which would likely be brian daubach...who goes???....bye bye kelly
Cerbaho-WG
Every team needs a LOOGY (Lefty One Out Guy).
witesoxfan
#2.) He's a lefty sidearm specialist. #3.) He wouldn't have been invited to SoxFest. #4.) He isn't known by anyone in the MLB. The Sox have a ton of relievers in the minors...including a lot of lefties. Munoz, Sanders, Stewart, Ring....and even more as well....could ALL be used as lefty specialists. Hell, we could sign friggin Jesse Orosco after this year to be a lefty specialist....they're not that hard to find. Dan Plesac could also be used...and he has actually stated interest in pitching in Chicago. How do you know he wouldn't have been invited to SoxFest? Kelly is a guy that is a very nice person from what I've heard....you are not going to want an asshole coming to SoxFest to be an asshole...but just because he's an asshole doesn't mean he is a bad player. Also....is the reason that Colon wasn't at SoxFest because he is going to be released after ST? I highly doubt it If he isn't known by anyone else in the MLB, then why last year when he was put on waivers did a team try to claim him? The Sox pulled him off waivers after that and didn't put him back on....because there was a possibility that if a good enough offer came up, they would have traded him during August....but because he didn't clear waivers, he couldn't be traded. Obviously, someone wanted him and knows who he is.
