kapkomet
Wow, what a game 6 in Calgary. Back to Tampa for game 7! I'm glad it's a game 7. They both deserve to win, and only one can. It's fitting for it to end as a game 7.
IlliniKrush
I'd be a wreck watching the Hawks in game one of the stanley cup finals, let alone a game 7. I was a wreck 2 years ago when we played st louis in a FIRST ROUND series. Speaking of which.... (martin) ST LOUISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ST LOUISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS ST LOUISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I remember watching Game One of the Stanley Cup Finals when the Hawks pulled that awful choke vs. the Penguins. It's a horrible feeling to know after Game One that your team has NO SHOT at winning that series. I'm rooting for Tampa on Monday, just because they've never won a Cup before and Calgary has. Plus, how cool would it be for your team to win Game Seven of the Finals at home? Excellent....

Texsox
I've watched the replay of what seems like a blown goal call that hurt Calgary. It leaves me with a hollow feeling for game 7 knowing that Calgary fans must (rightfully) feel like they got screwed. I was pulling for Tampa, but know hope that Calgary wins in a good game. As far as the Hawks, I remember sitting in the stadium watching Pittsburg carry around the Cup. Very weird feeling. Sucks your team lost, cool to be at a Lord Stanley Finals. That's the game they blew a pair of 3 goal leads and lost and with it went any chance they had of taking it. Seems like anytime a team suffers a reversal game loss like that they always end up losing the series. I remember that happened to Montreal in last years playoffs. It did go in, but it was kicked in. I thought that nullified that. If it doesn't, someone needs to explain that to the refs because Carolina had a goal nullified sometime this year because the officials said it was kicked in. GO TAMPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kapkomet
The rule states that the puck has to be literally kicked in the net, a forward, distinct kicking motion. Geligna didn't kick the puck in the net, he was stopping and the puck went off his skate. The reason it was not ruled a goal was because there was inconclusive evidence to overrule the call on the ice.
SAVVY18
It did go in, but it was kicked in. First off, I have no rooting interest in the series, I am calling it like I see it. The call wasn't about being kicked in. It was if the puck comepletely crossed the goal line. There wasn't a "distinct Kicking motion", the player was stopping and the puck can be "directed" in but not "Kicked" in. It was a very close play, but the replay that ABC showed wasn't from directly over the top or directly on the goal line and it made it look like the puck was in. Remember, the puck has to completely cross the goal line. The puck was on end and yes there was daylight between the bottom of the puck and the goal line, but it was a very deceptive angle. Since the puck is round, there can still be a part of it over the line. To illustrate: If you take a puck and stand it on end at the edge of your desk and look at it from an angle, it looks like it is completely on the desk. When you look at it from the side, it still has a portion hanging over the edge. Same thing. And the main thing is that the league said they didn't have conclusive evidence to overturn the call on the ice which was No goal. I just want to see a good close 1 goal game. I don't want it to be a blowout in the first period.
IlliniKrush
Though rooting for Tampa, i was pissed at first about the no call on that goal. I felt that it was a huge injustice. After the replay guys said they were perfectly fine saying it didn't get over the goal line, i was fine with it. That works. It wasn't kicked in as some of you have pointed out; it was a stopping motion. It would have (or should have) counted if they ruled the puck went in. I also remember Jagr dancing around 3 Hawks in game one, and i was at game 4 and saw the cup. Penguins skating around on Stadium ice holding the cup - most painful sight these eyes have seen

Penguins skating around on Stadium ice holding the cup - most painful sight these eyes have seen I was in the first balcony, center ice. It wasn't as painful if it was a game 6 or 7. I do miss Keenan. He's a psycho, but he manages to win hockey games.

IlliniKrush
Stanley Cup Final Pre-Game Quotes, June 7 -- Coach Darryl Sutter Contact Information: N/A 2004 Stanley Cup Final Calgary Flames at Tampa Bay Lightning Pre-Game Quotes St. Pete Times Forum June 7, 2004 COACH DARRYL SUTTER Q. Can you update us at all on the stat of Robyn Regehr? DARRYL SUTTER: He probably won't play. Q. How about Shean Donovan as well? DARRYL SUTTER: Probably won't play. Q. Your team has been sort of the sum-of-the-parts team all Playoffs; Regehr is a major part. Do you feel you can compensate the way you have done so many times? DARRYL SUTTER: Yes. Q. You said at the start of the series that you felt the longer it went the more you guys had the advantage. Do you see it now having played out that way in terms of being able to wear them down, the fatigue factor, that type of thing? DARRYL SUTTER: I don't think there's a fatigue factor. Q. The one nice thing about Game 7 of the Final is that this morning you know it's your last practice. You know this is the last date of the season. Is there any feeling in you right now before Game 7 about how you feel about this group knowing that this group won't be together as this, it will be different? DARRYL SUTTER: I don't think you can get too melancholy about it. But at the same time I think it's our 108th game. So we kind of are proud of our players for that. ******************************************************************* I think Sutter is just messing with Tampa, and both will play. But who knows. IlliniKrush
Well right now it's pick your poison. They all have had a terrible series. I hope Fraser and McCreary just put the whistles away and let them play. Fraser loves dictating the game based on the score, it's lame. I better not notice them tonight, AT ALL
