White Sox get: Rocky Biddle, Tony Armas

Expos get: average prospect

Both of these guys are available very cheap, and i think they could be the cheap alternative to helping this team now while still allowing us to acquire some help come July 31st. Rotoworld has already said Biddle is available for close to nothing, and Armas with the type of money he's making, is definitly available.

This seems like the much better option than going out and acquiring Garcia for the entire future, or Benson who is now being rumored to cost even Reed.

Rocky Biddle could come back to the southside, either be our closer replacing Koch, or our middle reliever/set-up man for either Shingo or Marte.

Armas allows us to have an innings eater, and if healthy a very solid number 5 option.

Take it for what its worth, just something that sparked in my head while reading how easily obtainable Rocky Biddle is.

Biddle is in Joe Borowski territory(meaning he's worse then Koch). He can't be counted on to get a save, and his stats thus far suck...7.32 ERA? 1.73 WHIP? 337 BAA? The only thing good about him is that he has had solid control(2.25 BB/9), but if you get torched like he has, you must be throwing strikes on a consistent basis.

And I don't want Armas. He's injury prone, and pretty much has a fake arm. Besides, any player named after 4 body parts is no good as far as I'm concerned.

The Expos can keep Armas and just let us get Freddy Garcia, who has not had the surgeries or does not have the trips to the DL that Armas has had.

I would love to trade Koch for a middle reliever, but not Biddle.. Next.. ;)

What? You wouldn't trade Koch for Biddle? I would in a second, and then I'd release Biddle's ass.

The trade would look like s*** because Montreal could, if they wanted to, just resign Biddle again. But we get rid of Koch's salary and get rid of Koch.

Beautiful if you ask me.

That's probably the only reason.. ;)

Marte

Jackson

Specialist

Wunsch

(trade for Koch)

Mopup

Cotts

Adkins

Closer

Zero

That's Beautiful if you ask me.

What about Jesus Colome in Tampa?  Terrible control but he throws hard as hell.  He is not a long term solution, but he would be easy to acquire and he is better than Koch.

I wouldnt mind it, Colome ain't bad at all.

This was my goal to spark interest in players that can get the job done and dont require giving up Jeremy Reed.

I am still in complete shock that no team has gone after BK Kim. The guy has the stuff to be a great pitcher in this league, give him to Ozzie and his "headcase" problem will be fixed.

How about Jose Contreras of the Yankees who is currently being rumored to go to Florida for Carlos Beltran, yes Beltran.

Who else is there, Jose Mesa.. Matt Mantei..

Tampa Bay has no need for trading anyone.......for anything. Remember they are in the AL EAST, which houses four legitimate teams. There's no hope for competing, so why trade a hard throwing pitcher (who's likely paid squat) for a washed up, 6 million dollar man?

Put yourself in the mind of the Tampa Bay GM trying to explain the reasoning behind the move: "I feel Billy Koch gives us a great opportunity to improve ourselves for both the present, and future of this talented organization." We must all admit it right now; Billy Koch is UNTRADEABLE.

Besides, there can only be one Jesus in Chicago. :fthecubs

I'm not sure he's suggesting we trade Koch for Colome...Tampa would not accept that.

I think he's more suggesting that we trade, say, Jon Adkins for Colome. They'd consider that, and may actually accept it.

Koch is, for the most part, untradeable. The only way you trade him is if you trade someone else that is good along with him. Or you trade him for someone else that's sucking ass for his respective team and has a contract to go along with it(though I can't think of anyone off the top of my head...there's gotta be one or two)

Well I actually did not suggest trading Koch for Colome. I just want Colome. I think he could be acquired with a low grade prospect or two. I believe I read in Sportsweekly that the Rays our fed up with him and his walks.

Lamar had made some bogus moves, Colome would be very easily obtained.
