Soxfest
Idiot says he cannot trade any of HAWKS young goal scorersfor a proven one, they have to come from minors, RUTTU and a russian prospect neither one have signed in last 3 years. This jerk is a Pulford puppet if i have ever seen one. :fyou
BridgeportHeather
I would NOT trade ANYONE on the ABC line...That's who you BUILD YOUR TEAM AROUND. Other than that, they don't have any young players, outside of Dempsey and McCarthy, who should stay. Poapst, who is a bit older, should stay as well. Tbo should be a backup goaltender. The problem with Mike Smithsov is that he's too stupid to look for anyone who's name does not end with -ov. And he keeps players way too long. Housely, Klemm, Krapothead, Krapolev, Slowdelein...THOSE are players you trade away/put on waivers. I know a couple of them have NO trade value; however, ya gotta cut the cancer, and these oldies are the ones showing no heart in their play. We do NOT want the younguns learning how to play the game from these peopoe. In addition, he aims to get the "finesse" type of player, contradicting with Brian Sutter's "gritty" type! That's not going to work. The discontinuity between the coach and GM is embarassing...But they still are my favorite sports team in the world. Mike Smithsov should be fired, Pully should be fired, Brian Sutter should be hired as the GM, and Trent Yawney should come in as coach. None of that will make a difference until the Wirtz family sells the team. Who do you think really makes the decisions on which players to sign, Smith? It all comes from one man who cares more about his liqour distributorship than his hockey team. Make Sutter the GM and things will still be the same. This would be a typical conversation: Sutter: "Mr. Wirtz, {insert name of NHL star here} is a free agent and in the prime of his career. He wants {insert dollar amount here} a year. If we sign him we will finally have some offense." Wirtz: "That's funny money. I am not sacrificing personal holdings to pay for players. Isn't {insert name of 40 year old NHL player that once was good but is now past his prime} available for next to nothing? Sign him and bring back the roar." Sutter: "Yes sir. Another issue we have is that {insert name of player that was drafted by team and just about to hit his prime} will be a free agent next year and we should think about signing him long term. He wants {insert dollar amount here}. This guy is a cornerstone of our future." Wirtz: "That's crazy! Tell him we will give him half that, if he balks then make it even less. Make sure that we start a smear campaign in the media to make it look like he is greedy and doesn't want to play in Chicago. Then trade him for some more draft picks or another cheap veteran. Oh and by the way, increase the price of the tickets on the glass from $250 to $500, the Mezzanine from $75 to $150 and the 300 level from $25 to $40. We have to make up the money from missing the playoffs somehow. In fact, charge $20 for parking now and $10 for beer. It is all just funny money anyway." Mathew
Smith did well aquiring players that cost 0$ this year. Berizan for 4th rounder good move when this team scores less than anybody. Eastwood, slower than mollasses but good on the P.K.(which is good this year) and free from St. Louis. Nathan Dempsey, starting to put puck on net playing on first D-line, waivers from Toronto. Guys that cost zip Smith can get anything else not allowed. I said it on the show this week, but I think a realistic trade for the Hawks is to aquire somebody like Geoff Sanderson, cost you little in return, he can play defence a lick but he know how to score. Beyond that if you have heard of the guy before, you won't get him in a trade. The only young player I'd possibly give up is Bell, and McCarthy forgot what got him to the NHL, but that's me.
