Elcaballo45
Im worried about him getting a hit at Florida, they have excellent pitching there.. not sure who we'll be facing this weekend...
Texsox
It is so hard to maintain a streak like that. One reason that Frank was never close is all the walks he gets. I wonder what Franks record is for reaching base in consecutive games?
Gene Honda Civic
in general the national media doesn't take notice of a long hit streak until you get halfway to Dimaggio. Carlos should expect some big pub if he can extend the streak through the next game. That way he's halfway to DiMaggio, and is the sole record holder for the white sox, who've been around for 100+ years.
Flash Tizzle
What was Luis Castillio's last season, i know that was really hyped up. 36 games. A Castillo type player (someone with short stroke, quick bat speed, fast runner) are the one's with the highest likelihood of reaching DiMaggio. For a player who is primarily a pull hitter, with not much speed, I'm surprised Lee has prolonged the streak this far. However he has changed his hitting approach its working; the obvious drop in SLG % tells me he is concentrating more on contact, which you need to chase the dubious mark. Agreed he has two tough ones in burnett and pavano. Not sure about the third starter for that series though.
Xero
As he gets closer to 30 and with Kent's streak over, the media is gonna start talking about him a ton. ESPN will have the Carlos Lee watch and he is gonna be in the lime light, he will soon be the top story in baseball. hopefully

Caballo generates more batspeed than Castillo. Ichiro will be the one with a 35+ game hitting streak. And Chone Figgins. Fast and not selective. Just enough hand-eye coordination. Jordan4life_2007
Didn't Lance Johnson have a 25 or 26 gm hitting streak back in like 92 or 93? As far as Carlos goes. I'm happy for him. I've been one to defend Carlos a lot. Some people in here totally undervalue him. I've heard some crazy trade ideas involving, Carlos. I don't hear those anymore though
Yoda
Everyone was all over Carlos for his hitting (.230 avg last month) and his running errors. But really, who cares about him screwing up on the basepath when he makes up for it on the offensive end. Carlos Lee has always been a slow starter. His batting average in the beginning of the year was a big disappointment. I remember seeing the bases loaded for Lee and he’d always ground out or pop it up. I can’t say he still doesn’t do that, but he’s been hitting allot more singles and doubles and also stealing bases.

Wise Master Buehrle
Yep. There were several that made me just shake my head in disbelief. Like this. :headshake Carlos, while not the smartest player on the team, has progressively been getting better and better every year. I wouldn't be surprised if he once again improves and hits .300+ for the whole season. I can't comment enough on how greatly his defense has improved.
