Rex Hudler
What is with the lack of Kanny box scores the last couple days? They won their third straight 5-4... computer problems perhaps? teams have to send in their boxscores, so the problem probably lies there....... MnSoxFan
no boxes, but some text about their game, this is Saturday night game INTIMIDATORS TAKE TIGHT ONE IN HICKORY (Hickory, NC) – The Intimidators clipped the Crawdads 2-1 behind a solid outing by starter Ryan Rodriguez and Brandon Bounds’ two run homer leading Kannapolis (28-33) to their second consecutive win. The Crawdads took the lead, 1-0, in the third inning. Sean Smith, who led off the inning with a triple off Rodriguez, scored on a single by Milver Reyes. Rodriguez (5-4) kept the Crawdads scoreless and left the game with four strikeouts in five and two third innings earning the win. For the second consecutive night, the Intimidators bullpen held on to the lead. Adam Larson entered the game in the sixth inning with two outs and a man on second. He popped up Mike Collum to end the inning. Larson added two more scoreless innings in relief. Seth Morris and Robert Valido combined to preserve the win with a tremendous defensive play in the eighth. Craig Stansberry hit a ball off the right field wall. Morris played it perfectly off the wall and threw to Valido at second tagging Stansberry off the bag for the second out. Crawdads manager Dave Clark came out to argue that the ball was actually hit over the wall for a home run but the play stood as originally called. In the ninth inning, Ehren Wasserman (12) retired three out of four batters faced to notch his team-high 12th save. Wasserman has a save in each of the last two Kannapolis wins. Ehren Wassermann came into the game in the ninth inning following an Adam Boeve two-run blast cutting the lead, 5-4. The closer earned his third straight save and second against the Crawdads for his 13th save of the season. The visiting Intimidators took the lead in the sixth inning on an RBI double from Micah Schnurstein scoring Leo Daigle to make it 3-2. The Intimidators added to lead in the eighth inning on David Cook’s two RBI double. Kannapolis starter Brian Miller (5-6) snapped a four game losing streak allowing a pair of runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. Miller walked two, while striking out two earning his first win since May 17th. Matt Capps (2-3) took the loss for Hickory. Capps went three innings allowing three runs on six hits.
