dasox24
He's not having that great off a year so I'd stay away unless he starts pitching like he did last year
SoxFan562004
I would be worth taking a look at, but he isn't pitching a well as he has in the past. I would think the Cubs and a few other teams are going to want middle relief or a closer, so the price may get driven up
SuperSteve
Alot of teams need bullpen help, so he will have someone to come calling. I would perfer to look elsewhere.
whitesoxin'
We have Shingo! No need for Urbina IMO.

That's why I say we go out and get a quality middle reliever. We do not need a closer as of right now, I like Takatsu.

CWSOX45
I say yes if and only if we get him for a low prospect. Urbina and Ozzie are real good friends. (as are Ozzie and Garcia) the question is would Urbina mind not closing? CWSOX45

CWSOX45 When he was first traded to florida he was put in the setup role, when braden looper was closing so I'm guessing he wouldn't mind not closing again. I wouldn't mind urbina but I think there are other relievers out there I'd prefer.

BrandoFan
Look, Sox need an ace pitcher if they want to have a prayer against Red Sox or the Yankees in ALDS. Until that need is alleviated, there shouldn't even be talk about closers and such. 1. Get Glavine/Garcia 2. Get Finley/Beltran Then, if any money is left.....If Shingo-Marte combo is our biggest worry, then start the WS parade now.

But you have to get them the ball, and having a good reliever to pitch the 7th for us would be nice. As of right now, we have Politte, Jackson, and Koch pitching that inning for us. That scares the s*** out of me. IMO, you need, at the very least, 4 good relievers in the postseason to be successful, and more would not hurt. As of right now, we probably have 3...Shingo, Marte, and then Scho or Garland, whichever is not in the 4-man postseason rotation. I'd like to get another reliever anyway possible, be it Urbina(for cheap), or Grimsley or Felix Rodriguez or Guardado...whoever. Just get another good reliever(or two0, and I'm fine. Exactly no matter how much ozzie wants our starting pitchers aren't always going to get through seven. Get one more reliever and the pen should be set. Get to the 8th inning with Marte and Shingo and GAME OVER.

Good post - IMO right now, we have two guys who I have confidence in taking the ball, and one is our closer (Shingo and Marte). We need to get another reliever - if it only takes two lower level prospects for Urbina, I'd do it in an instant.

Sox have only 2 LH bats that are worth a damn, and 1 of them is not proven. If neither are solved, it will not matter if our #3 reliever is Urbina or Politte.
