danman31
BMac is sick. He's the best pitcher in the system the last couple weeks. Good to see Nanita do well. 2-4 with an RBI. He really didn't need to be demoted. He wasn't doing that badly.

Chisoxfn
Rauch is all of a sudden pitching his ass off. Great to see Brice pick up two hits in his first game at Winston Salem. Right now I'm wondering whether Brian Anderson will be promoted before the Carolina/California league all star game at the end of June. ANYWAYS, nice to see Borch back on track, Rauch has been awesome since he got sent back down, like the cheat said hopefully he's really upping his trade value. dasox24
This was a great night for minor leaguers! B-Mac just dominated, Borch got back on track w/ 2 hit, Rauch pitched great again, and my man Dwayne Pollock got his 13th save of the year. I should also mention that Sean Tracey had another solid start for W-S, and it's great to see Brice have a good first game at W-S.
southsider2k5
Wow, I wonder what is setting Rauch off all of the sudden? Maybe he just needed the kick in the ass to wake up. Theoretically he could pitch as the fifth starter for us, based on where he is in the Charlotte rotation right?
Guest JimH
Wow, I wonder what is setting Rauch off all of the sudden? Maybe he just needed the kick in the ass to wake up. Theoretically he could pitch as the fifth starter for us, based on where he is in the Charlotte rotation right? He is pitching well enough to warrant another shot, that's for sure. What's obviously in question is, would Rauch getting promoted negatively affect the clubhouse chemistry? Sounds silly in a way, and in the ideal world, one would assume the guy who's performing best should get the ball. Baseball clubhouses are a little different than the real world, and the White Sox appear to have a good vibe going. So they'd be taking a calculated risk by promoting Jon. I was one of Rauch's biggest supporters, heck, I even have an autographed ball I bought in Tucson a few years ago. Unfortunately, I think his future is elsewhere at this point. It's great he's pitching well - it drives up his trade value. But we can never say never. If the Sox have no other options but Rauch, and/or they feel him being on the team won't hurt clubhouse chemistry, we may see him again. If there ever were a good time for the 5th starter to break in easy, it's this Sat. in a mostly empty Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

I'm sure Rauch feels like his back is against the wall and needs to prove himself all over again, whether to the Sox or other teams..... Rauch pitched 8 innings on Tuesday, so there is no way they would bring him back on three days rest Saturday. People underestimate this aspect and I think it should be taken seriously.

I remember hearing after the incident that KW was going to have the players vote on whether they would want Rauch to come back to Chicago. Does anyone know if that ever happened, and if it did, what the results of the vote were?

Does anyone know if that ever happened, and if it did, what the results of the vote were? Mike, it appears the results of the vote - if taken - were left in the clubhouse. Which is where it belongs IMO. It would be cool if we knew all the details, but we never will. I guess how we'll know is if Rauch ever gets promoted. My expectation is he'll be part of a package sometime before 7/31.

KW said he was going to talk to some of the players to get a pulse for their feelings. KW will definitely have the final say, he just wanted to get some input on how some of them felt it might affect the clubhouse.

I can't quote the source, as it was several days ago, but I was under the impression that there were some guys in the Sox clubhouse that were less than thrilled with Mr. Rauch. Clarification: My "source" was a media outlet. I just don't remember where I read it. The way I worded that made it sound like someone on the inside told me this. This is not the case.
