Xero
Don't know if this has been posted but here it is anyway http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...r_cws&fext=.jsp CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with third baseman Josh Fields, the club's 2004 first-round draft selection (18th overall) from Oklahoma State University. Fields, 21, hit .362 (88-243) with 10 home runs and 47 RBI in 62 games as a junior last season. The right-handed batter collected 21 doubles and scored 54 runs while leading his team to a 38-24 record and a berth in the NCAA Regionals. He also posted a .465 on-base and .580 slugging percentage. The native of Stillwater, Okla. was named First-Team All-America by Baseball America prior to the 2004 season and was rated by the same publication as the draft's second-best athlete and third-best power hitter among college players. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder hit .364 (211-579) with 25 home runs and 132 RBI in three seasons at Oklahoma State. Fields also earned three letters as quarterback of Oklahoma State's football team. He passed for 2,494 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2003 and led the Cowboys to a 9-4 mark. He owns the school record for most career touchdown passes (55) and set a Cotton Bowl record with 307 passing yards vs. the Mississippi on January 2, 2004. Fields, who was recommended by White Sox scout Alex Slattery, will be assigned to Class A Winston-Salem.

dasox24
unfortunately not as many people read that board. I wish more people would read that FutureSox board. It's a great source for minor league news, stats, etc., and is great for draft news. It seems like most of the posts are made by the few people who read the board. It would be great to have more people so we can get more opinions on stuff, and it better educates the regular Sox fan on minor leaguers. I started reading the futuresox board during the recent draft and now I'm an addict. There's alot of good info on White Sox minor leaguers there. thomsonmi
And, the signing of Fields is great news. At last check, the Sox had already signed 23 of this year's draft picks.

YASNY
It's good to get him in fold. Has anybody seen a picture of this guy? I hope he's a freckle faced redhead ... we could nickname him "Strawberry" Fields. I'm sorry. I should probably delete that, but I'm too damn lazy.
