qwerty
he was "pretty dominant" is what I said. True you did, but what i consider pretty dominant would be 3.50 or to 3.20 and dominant to be 3.20 or less. I don't know just the way i look at it. Jordan4life_2007
What range of era do you consider ''dominant'' just wondering. In my opinion anything under 3 is Dominant. I wish the Kerry Wood cocksuckers would realize that.

Yeah just because he has an overpowering fastball does not mean he is dominant whatsoever.

Jordan4life_2007
Yeah just because he has an overpowering fastball does not me he is dominant whatsoever. He's no doubt dominant at times. But until I see him put up a season of 18-20 wins an era around 2.70 and has a good whip he should never be mentioned in the same catergory of guys like Johnson, Schilling, or Pedro. Gene Honda Civic
I'm getting worried. With Maggs on the DL & Crede stinking the SOX are at a great loss in NL parks. If only someone was smart enough to suggest a Joe Borchard call-up. 2-4 today w/ a HR.

DBAHO
If only someone was smart enough to suggest a Joe Borchard call-up. 2-4 today w/ a HR. We'll see how we go against the Expos next series. If we struggle to score, dependin on Maggs recovery, Borch should be called up.
BrandoFan
I'm getting worried. With Maggs on the DL & Crede stinking the SOX are at a great loss in NL parks. What you should really be worried about is Sox' inabiliy/unwillingness to hit a middle-away pitch to opposite field, especially off a tough RHP. Pavano embarassed them today. Pedro, Shilling, Vasquez, Brown will shut this team down cold if adjustments aren't made. And they haven't been made in years, so there is no reason to believe things are gonna change. Also worry about this team lacking a #1 starter. God are Sox gonna get embarassed this upcoming Subway Series or what! Prior, Zambrano, Wood, Clement, Maddux...Strike-outs and pop-ups to 1B-2B galore......Mercy! :puke
witesoxfan
Astros, Phillies, Dodgers, A's, Red Sox, and Yankees if they get another starter. Which we all know they will. Astros are solid. Probably a distant #3 or #4 in the majors behind the Marlins and Cubs, and possibly the A's. Phillies are beyond overrated. Kevin Millwood is getting $10 mill a year to suck ass, Milton is solid, but nothing more, Wolf and Padilla are gone, and Myers is still mediore(though he could be good). Dodgers are way overrated. Ishii walks about 5 per 9, Weaver is mediocre, and Jose Lima, Odalis Perez, and Wilson Alvarez are nothing to write home about. A's probably have best rotation in the AL. Zito-Hudson-Mulder can stack up to anyone's 1-2-3 and Harden and Redman are very good #4 and #5 pitchers. Top 4 in the majors. Red Sox, as I said, are great 1-4, but lack a very good #5. Yankees rotation is probably worse then ours. Brown's DLing, Mussina's hurt, Contreras blows...Lieber's solid and Vazquez is good, but you can't count on Tanyon Sturtze to make too many starts for you. When healthy, their rotation is solid...nothing more, nothing less. And I don't know what starter the Yanks will get. They'll have to pay a hell of a price to get Garcia over the Sox, and I don't know if they can do it.

I didn't say any of those teams were better or worse..U said that the only team that comes "close" to the Cubs is the Marlins. I don't agree with that at all. It has happened over and over and over again. If we don't go out and get one very good lefthanded hitting RBI producer, we will go nowhere in the playoffs, IF we get that far. Kenny Williams!!!! Are you listening? We need Steve Finley at the very least.

FlaSoxxJim
I was at the game last night and Pavano was just plain nasty. 350 miles (round-trip) of driving just to see him make us look silly Oh well, the Cuban sandwich was good and Miami's killer Latin music stations are worth making the drive every once and a while. Wedge
Looked to me like the ump was giving Pavano a few extra inches on both sides of the plate and not returning the favor to Scho. I mean, we have to over come that, but it's really tough. I'm not trying to complain; I'm just trying to state a fact.
