WSoxShuf
Can you imagine the intensity with Garcia and the return of Maggs.
BlizzardOfOzzie
Well - this is not rocket science, but if we're NOT gonna play second fiddle all the time, then Reinsdorf needs to pull his head and coke-bottle glasses out of his ass and PONY UP SOME FAT COIN! Soxbadger
I hope he does not panic. If the Yanks grab Garcia, he just needs to stay course and keep trying to make the deals that he wants to make. You think Mariners fans want Navarro and Cash for Garcia, when they can get some of our prospects? We have good prospects who a team will trade for a pitcher, it may not be Garcia, but you never know who will become available. SB
redandwhite
let the Yanks grab Garcia. I think you guys all know where I stand, but I would be satisfied with Armas or Jennings especially if it means not trading Reed, Borchard etc.
BlizzardOfOzzie
SoxBadger - What an awesome name! You go to school at UW? I'm moving to Madison next year. Chicago's cost of living sucks ass. Besides, I'm a life-long Packers and Bucks fan anyway, so that will be golden. The ONLY thing I'm gonna miss about Chicago is the WHITE SOX, lots of Mexican food and lots of hot Latina women. But I'll be getting the satellite package so I can get all 162 Sox games up there. I ain't missing no White Sox games. Fu*k no.

BlizzardOfOzzie
That's funny. Hey - I'm on a Chicago team's message board, so what do I expect? No insult taken, my friend. We both love the Sox and that's what matters.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really want to see Tony Armas or Jason Jennings starting a playoff game for us. I want Schmidt/Johnson or even Garcia. Not Armas or Jennings. BlizzardOfOzzie
Yeah - he has been something else. I was there at Lambeau in Week 3 of 1992 when he came out to replace an injured Majkowski, and I was like - who the f*** is this guy wearing # 4. Um, well - he has started every game since. Insane. You watch - I'll bet when Favre retires, Chicago will throw him the biggest retirement party ever at Grant Park, or some s***. Just for the sake of not having to see him beat the Bears again, right? I remember the 80's when it was the other way around. :headshake

BlizzardOfOzzie
Love your picture of Jim McMahon - the ONLY player in NFL history to win a world championship with the Bears AND the Packers. Now that's historic!
Jordan4life_2007
Oh yeah - the topic - is Garcia REALLY that good? Don't know much about him. Garcia is good. There's no questioning his talent. The main problem is what's he worth? And is he a guy we can sign long term? I would hate to give up a guy like Reed only to see Garcia sign with the Red Sox or Yankees in the off-season. Soxbadger
I dont want Jennings or Armas either, but I think that we have to be selective in what we trade. We are not talking about the type of players we gave in the Alomar or Everett trades, these are some of the best prospects that we have, and the Mariners may be expecting 2 of them. I know that we need a win at all costs attitude, but if we are going to overpay, and risk losing a potential impact player, then lets go for something more. I mean we might as well overpay for something that is going to be dominant. Garcia is good, but he was almost nontendered last year, and now we are talking as if he is the answer to our world series quest. If we trade for him, he implodes, then we dont resign him. We are left with a whole in our system, and some draft picks. The trade has to fit us, not the other way around. We are the team competing, the Mariners are the team trying not to be left with a free agent they cant sign. SB (I went to Wisconsin when I first started to posting, I graduated so I live back in Chicago)

Very cool. Madison rules. Madison and Milwaukee are the only two cities in that entire state I could ever live in. The rest of the state is pretty much a bunch of sheltered, close-minded inbred morons. No thanks.

greg775
We will always be second fiddle as long as Reinsdork owns the team. Big market city, small market team. I just don't understand why we can't be the Twins and be the best of this horses*** division and dominate it year after year. We should be able to at least be the best of these s*** ass fellow small market teams.
