danman31
The Barons lost 8-6. Brian Becker's Birmingham debut went very well. 3-5 with 2 doubles and a HR. Ulacia got rocked. Bullard came in and didn't do so well either. LaMura and the "other" Josh Fields finished up nicely. Box Score

danman31
The Warthogs are getting no hit 6-0 by Frederick. I'm listening to the radio feed. Blakely has walked twice, the only guy to get on base for W-S. The Keys just replaced the starter Hayden Penn. He pitched 7 innings of no hit ball, 2 over the minimum and they pulled him. danman31
Pedro Lopez just blooped one in there with 2 outs in the 9th. Frederick was 1 out away.

CWSGuy406
Damn damn damn. Is Sweeney being overmatched or just slumping? It seems like his batting average is in a free fall...
Jordan4life_2007
Damn damn damn. Is Sweeney being overmatched or just slumping? It seems like his batting average is in a free fall... He's 19. He did have his average up over .270 not too long ago. I was worried that his solid spring training was gonna create unrealistic expecations. He's in a slump right now. I think he'll be ok though. Jordan4life_2007
Grilli has been nice. I wonder will he make the jump at some point this year?
DBAHO
Grilli has been nice. I wonder will he make the jump at some point this year? If Munoz struggles, and we don't acquire another starter. he's our next 5th starter choice. You can book it.

I think it's a combination of the 2 as well as unrealistic expectations from us fans (he is 19 in the Carolina League and skipped low A ball) and he is probably putting too much pressure on himself. I don't what you call it, but a 340 Slugging in a A-ball is unbecoming for the Next Mickey Mantle.
bmags
if someone were to ask me which of our minor league teams was most likely to be no-hit(or close as thsi was)...Winston Salem would have been my last pick in the beginning of the year with that outfield. But oh well.
