AngelasDaddy0427
Diaz need to be given a fair shot... When he got his "chances" he started on like 10 days rest and then again on 3 days rest! That is not a fair chance when your making your major league start. He never pitched anywhere near this bad either. Until we make a trade Diaz needs to be given a fair shot. I'm sick of these Diaz got his shot crap either. He never got a fair shot. Munoz did and failed. For god sakes give Diaz one!

I disagree with bringing back Diaz. We don't need a 5th starter, we need Garcia or nothing else.
AngelasDaddy0427
Well do you at least agree that IF we can't get a trade that Diaz is better then nothing... Hell i'd even settle for Rauch at this rate but Diaz is the best option that we have without a trade. If we don't get a trade we need to bring up Diaz.... Rowand44
No diaz, no munoz, no rauch, a proven starter........ PLEASE. Kenny needs to get a starter in here before the next time the 5th position comes up. If seattle is unwilling to trade right now, kenny might go out there find a 5th starter that you can use as a stop gap until seattle is ready to make freddy available, then stick the 5th guy into the bullpen and give jackson or cotts their walking papers. I don't know if anyone saw this but this kind of scared me, Dan Evans who is now a mariners scout was at the yankees game today scouting their starter they had out there, hopefully nothing will come of that but that can't be a good sign. AngelasDaddy0427
Besides I agree with you guys. We need to make a trade somewhere or find a 5th starter somewhere else. The entire point of this thread is that Diaz is still our best in house option....
GoodAsGould
yeah i agree with jeckle if we cant get a new starter when we next need him then if anyone is called up from our minor league system it should be diaz because honestly i didnt think he really looked half bad and he wasnt really given a fair chance either especially that 2nd game

Hey Munoz..... :fyou And shave that little Hitler stache while you're at it. HACK!!!!! :fyou Jeez, take it easy on him. It was his major league debut and he definitely sucked but c'mon he's got a very nice curve, his changeup even seemed to be descent, his fastball is good enough, he'll be a solid pitcher one day, just not today. Nice curve if it ever finds the strike zone and his change up fooled no one..... and this was against the WORST NL offense in '04. f*** him. It was his first ml start I know you don't want to hear that as an excuse and to tell you the truth I don't either but it was and arnie will be ok, just didn't have it today(understatement of the day). As far as the expos lineup they didn't seem to have much trouble off buehrle either , maybe all of the sudden they've just got hot. When their lineup is fully healthy it really shouldn't be that bad with: cabrera, vidro, carl, nick johnson.

If that's his debut against the NL's worst offense please save myself and the rest of White Sox nation from committing suicide watching the encore. AngelasDaddy0427
Well we need to just not screw him over. He threw more stikes then anyone else. I know that Diaz could of put down a s***ty team like the Expos....
danman31
Diaz deserves another shot....next year. He has lost some of his confidence or something as his numbers have not been as dominant in AAA. He has still pitched well on the whole since his demotion, but he has had a couple rough starts. That is something he had not had before his promotion. By the time he gets whatever it is back the deadline will be too close to not make a trade.
Gene Honda Civic
I might if he's given another start and gives up > 11 runs in less than 3 innings. There's no other manager in baseball who would have let that happen. No Manager would have let a kid making his ML debut face a guy who's already homered in the inning the second time in the same inning with the bases loaded. Ozzie sacrificed Munoz today. He made him take one for the team. Too bad the team actually had some life in it to make a great comeback. Only Oaklands bullpen has been used less than ours. We're the only team in baseball without a guy from the bullpen who hasn't thrown 30IP yet. There's no reason for that. The starting pitching hasn't been THAT good. Ozzies first day on the job set the tone. He overmanaged and we blew the game. Since then he has undermanaged, and sought to instill "confidence" in his pitchers by getting them shellacked to spare the pen. Don't quote Munoz's line to make a point. There's not one single manager, outside the southside of Chicago, who would have allowed that line.

I like the fact that Ozzie will stick with a starter through thick and thin, but when a guy is making his first ever start, you have to know better. Hey, he's learning, you know? I wonder if Ozzie wasn't sending a message to KW that none of these minor leaguers is a fix for the 5th starter position on a team that has hopes of winning a pennant. Hopefully, it worked. The fact is that none of these guys - Diaz, Munoz, Rauch and Cotts - are ready to be major league pitchers. Cotts is only up because he's left handed and Wunsch is a walking injury list. Unfortunately, every other major league team now also knows that the Sox' best minor league arms are not ready for the majors. Before trotting out all of them to fail, KW may have been able to get something in trade for 1 or 2 of them - now they are basically worthless until next year.
